Really loved this place. The service was lovely, the food was amazing especially beside the river under the kotatsu. And I loved how big the room was with the private bath. Had an amazing time in the private onsens without anyone disturbing. Couldn’t have asked for a better ryokan to go to.

The location is relatively remote, in the deep mountains of Central Izu, close to Shuzenji Temple. Q After checking in, the front desk will explain a lot of instructions. The public bath is on the third floor, 24 hours, nothing special to pay attention to. 3. Meal time (if included) must be confirmed in advance, they need to prepare meals. Kawabe Japanese food, be careful of mosquitoes. The overall food is just so-so, the ingredients are fresh but not amazing, and the environment is cold. 4. Smoking is not allowed in the room, and mineral water is not provided (there is a pot of ice water). That's about it, Izu Onsen. The water is really good, and the price is really not cheap. If I go again, I won't eat the food of this hotel, just wash it.

The Mizunoji Windnoji Yushima Ryuta Onsen Hotel is the second hot spring hotel in Izu that I stayed in after staying at the Kikuya in Shuzenji. The hotel's specialty is the kawadoko cuisine, which means dining while sitting by the river and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The hotel's rooms are extremely traditional tatami style, and the hardware is very primitive. The hotel has first-class scenery, and tourists who like tatami can try it, but I don't recommend long-term living. Maybe I prefer a "traditional" hot spring hotel with some modern equipment.
