Shuzenji Onsen Katsuragawa ★★★★
"The location is absolutely fantastic! Built right along the Katsura River, you can open your window to the soothing sound of the river and lush greenery. It's only a 3-minute walk to Shuzenji Temple, and a morning stroll along the riverbank is incredibly relaxing. The Japanese experience feels so authentic. Dinner was a kaiseki meal, with sea bream chazuke and grilled wagyu that were both fresh and exquisite. The room was a traditional Japanese-style room, and the tatami mats were clean and soft."
Arai Ryokan ★★★★
"The hotel opened in 1872 and boasts a superb location and ambiance. I stayed in a Flower Suite, right next to the Bamboo Path and Katsura Bridge, with unparalleled views from the window. The hotel's dining and service were both excellent. The room facilities have also been renovated and are in very good condition. No wonder it has been a 25-year-old "Top 100 Hotels" list."
Hotel Takitei ★★★★
"The location is confusing; when you enter the address, it shows a room on the 4th floor near the back entrance. The female staff member at the 1st-floor front desk was incredibly rude during check-in. She didn't speak any English, only talked about herself, and seemed tired, ignoring people and looking like she had no intention of working. Above all, the hotel is extremely outdated. They boasted grandiose descriptions of the 2nd to 4th floors, calling them banquet halls and amenities, but they are incredibly cramped, and there is absolutely nothing to enjoy. It makes me wonder if it is worth paying money to come to a place like this. You should go to a different hotel instead. Since Shuzenji Onsen is small anyway, you won't have any issues if you go to another hotel. I also didn't like the tatami room; they gave me a low-floor room on the 5th floor with a trashy roof view. When I first entered the room, the door was closed, but there were fallen leaves on the floor. It was unpleasant, and I considered complaining, but I held back because I was afraid I would just spit in their face. It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at."
Yukairo Kikuya ★★★★
"The room had a private hot spring, the facilities were new, and the environment was beautiful. We could walk to nearby attractions. The dinner selection was good, and the hotel itself was quite large with a charming corridor. It's set in a big private garden, which is great for photos!"
Laforet Shuzenji Sanshisuimei ★★★★★
"Private Onsen inside the room is amazing."
Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji ★★★★★
"The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The environment was very beautiful and pleasant. The front desk staff could communicate fluently in English, explaining every step and detail very clearly. Their service attitude was excellent."
LiVEMAX RESORT AMAGIYUGASHIMA ★★★
"This is an excellent resort with perfect location for an immersive Japanese Ryokan experience. The Nepali person at reception was very friendly and helpful. Most of the staff are friendly. The Onsen was amazing with cave Onsen and outdoor Onsen. Breakfast was very good with many choices."
Tatsuta Ryokan ★★★★
"There are two characteristics of the hotel, kawadoka cuisine and four open-air private hot springs. Let's talk about kawadoka cuisine first. The whole cuisine is very rich. The service staff will prepare it for you in advance at the time you make an appointment. You can enjoy the scenery while eating the cuisine. As for the hot springs, you can check whether the hot springs are in use through the website, which is very convenient. This time I only soaked in two due to time constraints. I will try the other two next time. The overall service is also very good. When you leave the hotel, the hotel will send you to a station by bus. Just confirm the route with the hotel in advance."
Irori No Yado Sankichi ★★★
"This will likely be our favourite stay of our entire trip! It felt like the most warm homely and welcoming step back into a Japan that is rapidly disappearing. The food is sublime, effectively a 14 course tasting menu of authentic local food, sat on tatami mats with the wood fires next to you, dressed in a lovely Yukata provided by the ryokan! I cannot recommend this stay enough, the mountains around are gorgeous. We got off the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka at Mishima station and rented a car for the day to see Mt Fuji and Izu peninsula which all worked out great!"

"Since the reception is unmanned, those unfamiliar with the system might be a little confused. It's important to check your email frequently."
Akaneiro no umi arujisu
"We were a little reluctant to check out this morning, but we'll definitely come back next time. The food in the room was beyond our expectations—it was amazing! The two elderly ladies spent several hours preparing for our meal from check-in to dinner. They prepared a sumptuous breakfast early in the morning. Thank you! It was an unexpected surprise during our trip."
Shin Kaikatei Izumi
"The hotel's value-added services are very considerate. From when the guests leave the car to when they return to the hotel room and then to the restaurant, all the employees do their best to serve the guests. The meal is full and delicious. Thank you again for your thoughtful arrangement for me and my two friends. I also wish your company a prosperous business. I will also introduce your hotel's services to other friends and recommend that they stay at your hotel!"
Ryokan La luna
Oni No Sumika
"The environment is great, the room is big, and the service is nice! The round-trip fare from Shuzenji was also reimbursed!"
Ochiairo
"I ordered this for a customer, I don't know if it's good or not"
Tofuya Resort & Spa Izu
"Serene stay and authentically Japanese! Grounds are gorgeous, staff is wonderful. Bakery is delicious too and you can put your feet in their hot water footbath while you enjoy a treat."
Yugashima Golf Club & Hotel Resort
"I made a reservation to coincide with the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival. I took a hot spring bath as soon as I arrived, and the large indoor bath and outdoor rock bath had a feeling of openness that was really great. The quality of the spring water is very good and you won't get too hot, so you can enjoy it over and over again. I love that you can come in from 5am! When I took a walk outside at night, I was very moved by the starry sky. The staff are very kind and I am very satisfied overall. There was a golf course right in front of the hotel, so next time I would like to stay with friends and make a golf reservation."
Shirakabeso
"This hotel is very comfortable and quiet, and the staff are friendly. We went to the outdoor hot springs early in the morning after breakfast, and there was no one there, so the scenery was beautiful. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and very filling."
Toi Fujiya Hotel
"Clean and comfortable hotel. Had a short stay and it was a wonderful experience."
Yagyu No Sho
"I stayed in the Jōgen Room, a sukiya-style room. I thoroughly enjoyed everything from the food and hot springs to the hospitality. There were also many paintings of natural plants and flowers hanging on the walls, and I became a fan when I learned they were the work of Fumiko Hori. The hanging scroll depicting an uninterrupted clear stream was by Keiko Yamashita."
Fugaku Gunjo
"Everything is excellent!! My experience starting from entering the hotel to leaving it was always good. The service, the food, the view, the onsen, are all brilliant. Tho it the location of the hotel is not convenient for travellers who don’t drive themselves, I wish to visit again."
Yunohana-Tei
"Because of Japan's Golden Week holiday, the bus we'd planned to take back to the hotel that evening wasn't running, leaving us stranded at Lover's Restaurant, quite far from the hotel, around 6 PM. We called the hotel, and the guy who answered the phone immediately drove over to pick us up. The room we booked, with its own onsen, was incredibly relaxing. A 10/10 rating is a must!"
Atarayo Nishiizu Onsen
"It was a pleasant experience, because I can't drive and took the bus. The hotel is right next to the bus stop, which is very convenient (´▽`). There is a cabinet in the lobby where you can choose the yukata you want to wear, and the patterns are all very beautiful (。ì _ í。) When I checked in, they knew I was a foreigner, so they spoke English to me during meals and conversations. The staff were very friendly, and the dinner and breakfast were delicious (´・ω・`). Every dish was delicious. I really liked the wagyu beef, oysters, bamboo shoots and sashimi for the appetizer. Although the amount didn't look big, it was actually quite filling. The hot springs were also very comfortable, and I soaked in them many times. My room was right next to the bathhouse, which was very convenient. The room was also very comfortable. A very happy stay experience o(^▽^)o"
Meijikan
"The Suruga Bay ferry takes 5 minutes from the pier to the hotel. The ocean view is beautiful, and you can watch the sunset. The dinner wasn't fancy but delicious. It's 5 minutes from Toi Gold Mine, perfect for a one-night stay."
