Next Stop · Encounter Hostel (Jinan Railway Station)

For this price, it's really amazing what you get! It's clean, you don't hear any street noise, and there is even a washing machine (but no detergent). Service is really good as well. Even though the receptionist doesn't speak English, he directly used translation tools to communicate everything to me and came down to the street to get me, as the hostel entrance was a bit hard to find (as usual in China). They don't have a physical reception and common area though. In the building it smells like cigarettes, fortunately inside the room you can't smell it. When I wanted to leave my luggage after checkout, I was first told it is impossible, which is quite inconvenient! So I had to insist and was told to leave it in an office in the same building a few floors down, but only until 5 pm. So if you have a late train, there's no way to leave your belongings and keep exploring.
