We fell in love with this hotel. From the first minute we got there, we felt in paradise. The staff is charming, every one of them, and they make you feel very cared for and pampered. The food is at the height of the top resort. Our suite directly overlooks the paradise beach with magical sunrises, a more than generous size and a successful decoration. No doubt we will return very soon. Thank you, Rachel and your team, for treating us so well

I couldn't imagine a better vacation. If you're looking for a low-key, relaxing vacation in a gorgeous location with outstanding food, this is the place for you! The hillside pool suites, staff, afternoon and evening live musicians, and food were superb. We visited 10 years ago for our honeymoon and again now for our 10 year anniversary. Hermitage Bay is still perfection! I told my husband we have to go back again for our 15 year anniversary!

The Hermitage Bay lived up to all of the wonderful things we read on Trip Advisor. This is a truly special place with an incredible group of amazing people who believe in the quality of service that they deliver. The combination of natural beauty and comfort is unparalleled. The sea water is calm, warm, and extremely clean. The food is delicious and the menu changes daily but there is still something fresh and healthy for everyone. We took a trip to English Harbor with a fantastic driver named Luz - saw the sunset from Shirley’s and enjoyed the steel drum band. This place is hard to leave!

We just returned from a 9 night stay at Hermitage Bay, and what can we say…what a truly amazing experience it was! 5 stars doesn’t do this beautiful and private boutique hotel real justice. It really is top notch across the board in every way. What really separates this hotel from all of the many others we have stayed at across the Caribbean is the people. It sounds cliche, but you really feel like part of their family. We got to know so many of the staff so well that it was very hard to say goodbye. And that’s never happened to us before. It’s what will draw you back and make you want to return annually. We had to hug so many people before we departed! We’ve never gone to the same hotel twice in the Caribbean before, but this is one we’d come back to annually if we can. It’s that much of a personal touch. And of course, the setting is beautiful and secluded. The food and drinks are really creative and special, and the executive chef is extremely talented. We had a chance to speak with him a few different times to tell him how impressed we were. The restaurant’s meals are so amazing that you won’t find a need to dine anywhere else. Just stay on the property and enjoy how well they do things at Hermitage Bay. The service of ALL of the staff members is among the best we’ve ever experienced. They all felt like good friends by the time we had to leave. If we could thank them all by name, we really would. But for now, we’ll give a heartfelt thanks to some of the many we got to know well: Solange at the reception desk (so many laughs were shared, and she can assist you with anything), Jillian (who we had to say goodbye to 3 or 4 separate times…we loved her humor, ha!), Simone (who we also had to say goodbye to many times over - such a wonderful soul), sweet Jamilla and Zoe who served us in the restaurant (but again, ALL of the ladies were amazing and kind and special in their own way), the boys at the bar and beach and restaurant - Stoney (who also makes an incredible hot sauce, just ask for a sample), Anthony (he’ll be easy to remember…we say that with only love, haha!), Jesse (who also DJs in his free time), Kyle (big things ahead for this young man), Ryan, Jamoll, Koshayne, Clinton (all are pro drink makers and are truly fun to talk to)….and I know we’re going to feel really bad for forgetting to mention countless others who deserve just as much recognition for making every day in Antigua so special for us. Rachel, the general manager, is present most every day and is a pleasure to speak with. She should be very proud of what they’ve created on this part of the island. We’ve never written a review this long or with this much detail, but we felt compelled to. It’s the people of Hermitage Bay who separate them from most other resorts. If you want a truly memorable and unique experience in the Caribbean, do not think twice about reserving your place here. You’ll want to come back again and again. We can’t wait to book our next visit - hopefully same ti

Amazing resort and the photos do not do it justice. The staff, food, room, location, beach and weather was outstanding led by an amazing manager namely Rachel. It's hard to find a better resort than Hermitage bay and it is well worth saving up to visit this amazing location.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Hermitage Bay Resort at the end of February and agreed it was the best Caribbean holiday we have had yet. We like to experience different locations each time we travel to the Caribbean but Hermitage Bay has made it difficult for us to continue that trend. We want to go back! Everything was perfect or close to it. Arrival Once off the plane we easily located the island transportation representative and were whisked through border control and customs and into our waiting car in record time. Location As others have pointed out the roadway down to the resort is a bit 'rustic' but it's a very minor inconvenience. The Hermitage Bay property is beautiful, well-maintained, quiet and safe. The views out into the surrounding bay and hillsides is so relaxing Rooms We requested the highest villa available and the HB team obliged rewarding us with #39 at the top of the resort. Wow! What an amazing view. It's a bit of a hike up to it and you would need to be in reasonably good shape to attempt it. However, the resort offers golf car shuttles to ease the burden. The room itself was perfect. Large bedroom with shutters that could be fully opened to the beautiful view if desired. My wife and I turned off the a/c at night and opened the shutters and let the sound of the ocean below and sounds of the night on the hillside lull us to sleep. Wonderful outdoor deck area. Plunge pool was a nice treat. The outdoor shower also has an amazing view with plenty of privacy which is good because it's your only option to shower. One point to make here - we would gladly select a hillside villa when we return to HB but noted that the beachfront villas looked really appealing as well. Right on the beach. Easy walk to the restaurant and activities. Food, Drink & Restaurant We don't typically go for all-inclusives because we love great food, wine and premium cocktails. But positive reviews we read convinced us to give HB a try. The did not disappoint. Yes, there is just one restaurant BUT the menu changed daily especially for dinner so we never felt like we were trudging over to the same place again for each meal. And the food was excellent. Fresh, well-prepared and suitable portions. We never left the table disappointed. There are two bars on the property and the selection and service exceeded our expectations there as well. Other comments I discovered hiking trails at the far end of the property which I found personally interesting. I took a well marked trail along the bay and encountered the ruins of an old sugar mill in the woods. Really interesting. Likewise, as a runner, it was good to see there were options to get in a decent run just off the property around Pearns Hill adjacent to HB. A little hilly but it fit the bill. There were also non motorized water sport options (kayak, sail, SUP) available. The bay is generally calm so it's a great spot to tool around and explore on the water a little if that's your

You know your fantasy beach vacation? The one that involves crystal clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, the sense of being castaway/marooned in 6-star comfort? The one where you don’t need a wallet or credit card to have your every wish met, where all your meals and drinks are not only included but top shelf, where you walk a few feet from your amazing front porch and your toes are in those blue waters, where you never get out of a bathing suit unless you choose to dress for dinner, and given the caliber of the cuisine, you feel the desire to not just dress but supplicate at the feet of the chef—Desroy Spence—who is unarguably the most creative, imaginative and visionary chef not only of the Caribbean but Of Europe and. N. America as well and is providing you three multi-course meals per day and a menu he creates each morning when he wakes up, based simply on where his culinary genius leads him depending on what is freshly caught and freshly grown? The fantasy vacation where you can eat said meals by candlelight right on the sand or have them delivered to your extraordinary cottage and never see another human? The dream vacation where each morning a perfect chaise covered with soft towels and neck rolls are set up just for you and where a young man periodically strolls down the beach to you bearing skewers of fresh fruit and ice water and asking what he can get for you to make you the teensiest bit happier? Imagine a place where the ratio of staff to guests is about 6:1 and where everyone who takes care of you is both completely unobtrusive but deeply attentive to your every comfort, and every member of staff knows your name, remembers what you like to drink, how you take your coffee, where you like to sit. (The general manager here, Ms Rachel Brown, makes fantasy beaching look effortless, but she runs an impeccably tight ship and no detail is too small to escape her careful attention.) In your own cottage you can imagine you are completely alone and barely see another soul. Or you can allow the expert staff to take you out to snorkle the reefs or set you up on a paddle board or arrange to get you a jet ski; you can do yoga or have extraordinary spa treatments or just sit under a palm tree with the smell of frangiapani wafting around you and the best bespoke mojitos in the islands brought to all afternoon. Please please don’t go here. It is unspoiled paradise. It is tiny, authentic, luxurious, bespoke to the max, and I am terrified people will discover what an extraordinary jewel HB is and I will no longer be able to get a reservation. I went in Jan/Feb of 2024. On the flight back to California I booked my return in May. I am already plotting ow to afford to return again in the Fall.
