This past weekend we had to make an unexpected, last-minute trip to Kinder, Louisiana. It was a Sunday night, and due to the Coushatta ****** hotel being booked, we had to scramble to find lodging. The Kinder Inn popped up, so we booked it. The exterior of the hotel looked like it had been recently painted and the parking lot was well lit (a plus for us seniors). The hotel is family owned and run, and we think it’s important (especially in this financial climate) to support local “mom and pop” businesses. That being said, the good things were the room was exceptionally clean, and the bed and pillows were really comfortable! There was a mini-refrigerator and a microwave. On the “need improvement” side, there was no closet, the furniture was very dated, there was no coffee machine or bottled water provided and limited amenities. The room needs to be updated and painted but they’re doing the best they can with a huge renovation project. However, it was adequate for us, especially for the price and last-minute arrangements.
