Convenient Short Stay Near Kunming Railway Station
I stayed at Home Inn Hotel (Kunming Railway Station North Square) for a quick overnight stop after landing in Kunming, before continuing my journey to Dali the next morning. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the railway station, which made it a great choice for transit.
The room was basic but well-equipped for a short stay, and the chilly weather outside made the cozy room feel even more comfortable.
However, I was a bit disappointed that the hotel phone number couldn’t be reached when I accidentally dropped the wrong location. While the staff were helpful, they were not very friendly, and the language barrier made communication quite difficult. Some even looked annoyed when I asked for assistance.
Overall, it’s a decent and convenient place to stay if you just need somewhere near the station—but don’t expect warm service or easy communication in English.

1. There are several Home Inn's in Kunming,
2. they donnot know about eachother, staff is not speaking English and just laughing in your face, which makes it even very unpleasant esspecially late in the evening.
3. the address on the advertisement was totally wrong AND none existing.
With the help of a hotel Crystal at this address 2F, No. 10 Yongping Road, Guandu District, Kunming, Yunnan, 650051, China
we managed to find the right Home Inn, which was on Xuefu Road Yunshangcheng !
That particular hotel where they were helping could not have foreign guests but at least they helped us out, as we were referring to their address used in the advertisement.
Seems to be fraudulous thing with Home Inn !

Although the reception is just a counter facing the street, the room was clean and had everything I needed, no issues whatsoever.

I really enjoy staying here as it's located close to a lot of shops and restaurants. Also, it's less than 10 minutes walk to the Kunming Railway station.

Just a quick transit from airport to train station, stay several hours to rest and shower. The location is just a few steps from train station, with very affordable price, so a good choice for rest a while before entering train station.
