Stayed here in this hotel for the second time of my kyoto visit i like the place it’s clean and peaceful hotel front desk is friendly and cooperative enjoyed my stay ☺️

Very clearn and well managed. Good wifi service. Good location , near bus stations.

I've difficulties in locking the doors of the restrooms outside the dormitory room.

Only stayed for a night but I enjoyed it! Very close to some highlights in Kyoto and really clean hostel.

This is great guesthouses. If you travel in Kyoto, you can arrive at many sites easy from here.

It’s a very cheap guesthouse with friendly staff. Close to many local sights. There is onsen nearby, which is tattoo-friendly. The coffeeshop downstairs is a plus. However, as mentioned previously in other reviews, the cleanliness of the place is definitely not its strength. At least they provide slippers, and it is not that messy in the shower room.

For the amount you're paying, it's the basics. The bed was alright but the storage was great. Common areas were cramped but nice (also had a fully equipped kitchen which ppl did use). The selling point is the location as you're near a lot of tourist sites. Worth it for the price

It's a good choice for single travelers due to the location and price. Pros: - Very good location, within walking distance of Kiyomizu-dera and Gion, convenient to travel by bus. - Normal bed, good bed linen. - There is a small kitchen. Cons: - Not very well cleaned, very dirty under the bed. - My bed had very poor light, although the bed next to me had good lighting. - The suitcase must be lifted to the 3rd or 4th floor by stairs.

Checked in but was given a bed that was already taken, however they rectified it quickly and switched me to a female dorm instead of my previously booked mixed- dorm. Showers are clean and there is a common kitchen area on 2nd floor and lounge area on 1st floor. The location is near bus stops which can get you to the train station. The bunks are quite spacious with an area to place your baggage as well. Great for solo travellers. Do note that there is a ¥200 fee per night that you will need to pay upon check in.

The service is not very good. They just leave a paper and ask for extra 200yen for the taxes, although I am not sure it is true or not for the city tax, but in my memory there is no such rule when I last time visit Kyoto. It is not clean as described.

Rather basic for a Japanese hostel. But good budget option.

PLEASE READ. Me and my friend booked here for 9 nights. The location is good but that is about the only satisfactory thing about this place. About an hour into our stay I developed a bad cough, blocked nose and a headache. This got worse over the next few nights but I assumed I had just become sick so I didn’t go out for a couple days and didn’t get much sleep. My friend also developed a cough but not as bad. On day 3 we found a huge patch of black mold in our room ( 12 bed shared dorm ) right next to the AC. We went down to complain and a member of staff moved us upstairs to another shared dorm, where the condition was far worse. The entire back of the wall was covered in black mold. There was no ventilation in that room so it was really difficult to breathe. Once we began looking we found far more mold all over the building. When we went down to complain, the member of staff was incredibly rude and not apologetic at all, and after cancelling our stay they refused to refund us any more than one night. Eventually after a lot of bargaining and having to contact trip.com, we managed to get a refund for the days we wouldn’t be staying there anymore, still having to pay for the nights there that had made me unwell. Although the location and common space is nice, the approach to this matter was unacceptable, as it was clear that they had known about the issue for a while. I would not recommend staying here to anyone, especially people with allergies, asthma and respiratory issues.
