So often reality is not as good as the photos. This hotel is fab. Our room really was as nice as the photos. The grounds are exceptionally well cared for. The pool area is a joy to relax in. Breakfast buffet is generous. Different delicious pastries every day. And the staff are so helpful and friendly. Why pay more?

I can't praise this hotel highly enough. I went with my sister (end of September 2023). We both had a double, en-suite room with balcony. The rooms were amazingly clean, spacious and comfortable and the views were lovely. My room overlooked lush vegetation and the swimming pool and my sister's overlooked the mountains. Breakfast is a buffet with an array of delicious foods. The hotel is located in a quiet road but just around the corner is the main village of Nidri where there is everything you need including a vast array of wonderful cafes and restaurants. I would like to praise Caroline who was always there at breakfast (and most of the day) welcoming everyone, she always had a smile on her face and was so helpful and lovely and Joanna who was amazing at sorting things out in a calm and friendly manner, nothing was too much trouble for them. I will remember them both with great fondness. I only met Maria, the owner, a couple of times but both times she was most helpful and charming. One thing I would say is if you can hire a car it is advisable. Nidri is port so you can get around by boat and there is a bus service but a car means you can see much more of the island. Nidri seemed the best place to stay on the island in my opinion.

The George is everything a holiday hotel should be - welcoming, friendly staff, rooms cleaned daily and towels refreshed regularly, large pool, good bar and excellent breakfasts. There was, of course, the perennial problem if you wanted a late afternoon swim of guests leaving their towels on unoccupied sun loungers. Charges for air conditioning in bedrooms were also a bit steep.

We had a good stay at this hotel. Overall we thought it was very good with excellent and helpful staff especially to mention Eva and Joanna. The breakfast selection was one of the best we've had in a small hotel with a good choice changing daily and including hot food. The quality was also good. Everywhere was kept very clean and the pool is a decent size and also very clean. AC is an extra cost at €9 per day if needed and safe deposit €20 per week. We had help to book a restaurant out of town including the taxis and it was always service with a smile. We had drinks in the bar on a number of occasions and sitting outside is a pleasant experience. The location is only a few minutes walk to the pebbly beach and a whole range of local restaurants, bars and cafes. There are also some shops and our wives bought dresses and bags at good prices. Nidri is quite a busy small town with bus services to Lefkas town, Ligia and Vasiliki, all worth a visit. Bus fares are around 2 euros per journey and there are enough buses to provide a day out to see other parts of the island. Also there is a ferry to Meganisi a small island a few miles away. It is very easy to hire a small boat if you want to go on the sea under your own power. All in all a good week.

Big spacious, modern room with TV (Netflix) air con and much more Only thing to mention is the hairdryer isn’t great for long thick hair. And not much storage in the rooms Also we chose to ate dinner here one of the nights and we didn’t enjoy it unfortunately. The pizza was soggy and the beef was tough. Apart from that was an amazing stay , and highly recommend Will be back x

Not long back after a fabulous week staying in this absolute gem of a hotel. Small and friendly in a fantastic location. Hotel is in a side road with only a couple of minutes walk in to the beautiful and bustling centre of Nidri. Check In was quick and efficient with the extremely friendly and helpful Joanna carrying my cases to our first floor room. Our room was very comfortable and obviously recently refurbished. Lovely balcony view over the pool and mountains. Everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Breakfast is typically Greek and you could have pancakes and omelettes etc cooked to order it you wanted too. We enjoyed toasted sandwiches for lunch but the menu choice was very varied, something for everyone. The pool area is lovely and spacious. The best pool area in Nidri as all the other hotels seemed to have very crowded pool areas. It was so peaceful too. All the staff are wonderful but Joanna deserves a special mention as we never saw her without a smile on her face. We would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely return to this delightful place. Thank you everyone for looking after us so well.

Fabulous hotel made to feel very welcome Caroline could not do enough for you all staff really nice even the dog used to wait for me to come bk at night and walk me to my room 😄 met some Fabulous people hope to always be intouch with Jan & Paul tash &Stew minutes from the beach and so many shops bars restaurants

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it is chill, with nice pool, tasty breakfast, very close to the main street. Mostly families and elderly. By default room service was not the best, but once I asked for something they assisted.

Booked through TUI, which stated double and twin rooms available, however when clicking through the booking and expecting to select specifically which type of room, it did not give me the opportunity before paying. I rang TUI who told me to request this online as Special Requests on their selections, and also to contact George Hotel myself directly, which I did. I was travelling with my adult daughter and it was essential we had twin beds. I emailed the hotel twice following this. On the site we were also able to select other requirements, so we selected "Vegetarian and "Quiet Room". On arrival we were told we had been given a double bed, and that they actually had very few twin beds. There was no other availability. The room had an actual hard sofa in it, not even a bed settee, which led to a very uncomfortable night's sleep. After needing to unpack our cases we were told we could repack and move to another room the following day, although it would still only have a double bed but with a sofa bed. After repacking our cases and hanging around the hotel the next day for it to be cleaned and made available, we were then shown to this room (the first one was booked from that day in any case) and the sofa bed was a small size, really only suitable for a child, but we were told there was no other availability, so this was not very comfortable for an adult. This room and balcony over looked the town's public car park and was certainly not "Quiet". There was no food available at breakfast for "Vegetarian" other than fruit, croissants, bread or (dry) cake. So none of our requirements were met. Extras - we paid 20.00 euros for the safe for the week, and 7 euros for overnight tax. The air conditioning cost us 63 euros for the week, but it should be mentioned that most of the time it could not be used as it was necessary for the one room key to be inserted into the electric slot for this to happen, but it also barely cooled the room at all. Due to the key system, our mosquito plugs could not be activated until back in the room rather than the 2 hours previous to retiring, as recommended. As frequent travellers especially to Greece, we had taken with a pinch of salt the comments that the staff were a little hostile and gave preference to previous guests, however we did find this to be true unfortunately. Every day we were asked our room number several times at breakfast. Despite letting us down on our room type and preferences there was no apology or regret whatsoever. (We were nothing less than polite, despite our disappointment and obviously having our holiday disrupted and first day wasted). On checkout they tried to charge us a bar tab to our account which we had not had. Again, no apology for their error. There was not even a smile or a request that they hoped we had a good holiday, or a safe journey home/hope that we return again.
