Young Island Resort

The entire place is run down and very poorly maintained. The food at the restaurant is below average to a point where we were eating out or ordering food from outside. The rooms are as poorly maintained or even worse. Our room curtains were stained, the sheets had yellow stains on them and the cushions were dirty to say the least. The bathroom however took the 'cake' so to speak. The seat on the WC was broken and when we told them to change the seat, they 'fixed' it - with packing tape! Being a long weekend, there were no rooms that we could move to. Could not wait to get out of there!

Why do we all go for resort? to chill out with family & enjoy the camp fire, music, good food.? Does this ***agement really know how to treat their guests? Lack of guest handling skills among staff. No staffs are polite except one from restaurant department & food was decent. I wanted to inspect as ***y of my Bangalore based clients will ask for weekend packages. Even after I have told the owner that I am coming to inspect, the owner never bothered to give us good care. we have made a request for camp fire & DJ. Front office staff Mr. Santosh told me it is not possible since it was raining last night. Even I have told him I will buy firewood, still he told me it is not possible, firewood is wet, this, that. It was like “I don’t care” response to the guest. And worst part was the owner in charge had a place above restaurant & kept loud DJ music. But it is not available for guest when we request, even after we are ready to pay for fire camp & music. If a service is not available guest it should not be available to owner as well. First ***agement should know how to talk to guest & then they should teach their staff. I think the staff developed this kind of arrogant attitude from the ***agement. No one knows how to treat or talk to guest. I wonder how this beautiful property with great location can run with such a poor ***agement. Lack of maintenance in bathroom. Ex: there was a centipede in bath tub (attached photos), bath tub was dirty to the core and wall around the window was damaged & looked terrible like a lodge. I will not suggest this property to any of my clients as there are plenty of options in the similar cost (INR 4,500 without breakfast) I have paid (INR 3,500/room after discount) There are properties nearby with breakfast and better rooms & play area. I check-in only for its location and had a terrible experience. Positive: Swimming pool, table tennis, decent food, location (river side), bed, only suitable for day usage & bachelors, those who want to booze & sleep, those who want a quick night stay Negative: Not suitable for couples, staffs are rude, poor ***agement, no additional services on request even you are willing to pay for it like camp fire, music, etc. Regards Udhaya Kumar.S Director- sales & Operations Orbis India Tours +91-9790937399

Dear Bianca and Staff, I returned to Young's island knowing well your resort I have stayed ***y times over ***y years whilst visiting SVG on business locally This time I again brought my wife yet this time for some post pandemic relief via your very special milieu of R&R Your resort is best described as quiet and old world elegance This may not be for everyone, but for those seeking consistently good cuisine, easy access to the pool, the bars or even an easy quick visit to town, Young's island is the 'picture perfect' venue I noticed a rant on your reviews about firewood/campfires and allied comments What are they talking about? They came from SE Asia seeking a campfire??? Come to Canada where today in February in Toronto it is -26c and as such I would understand this rather strange request a bit more! Re music from 'across the water' yes indeed some establishments in St Vincent play local music in the evenings as it is the very nature of Caribbean culture to do so It is found on every Caribbean nation, an enjoyment of life that includes music, food and dance Embrace it When you get home is will be a part of the nostalgia ! Young's Island is a warm and welcoming resort that has been in existence for ***y years. I notice ***y like I return to this sincere and honest atmosphere Our holiday was not long enough ! The resort was really scenic and had a cheery atmosphere. The room were little old fashioned but had all modern amenities. The staff was polite and welcoming. The pool was great addition. Will visit again

This is a genuine review based on our stay at the Young Island Resort. I must say that it was pathetic and gruesome. There was an insect in our room serviced Veg biryani and literally nothing was done to correct it. Deatiled pointers below: 1. Yes, there was an insect in the "Veg" biryani and all they did to correct it was, not charge it in our final bill. No explanations, no apologies at all. 2. There is no wifi. I would never expect a hotel that charges 6K a night to not have wifi. Low network connection of Vodafone and Jio were adding to the pains. 3. Negligible toiletries. Just a couple of medimix soaps. No shampoo, body wash, tooth kit or even hand towels. 4. Dirty and unkempt river side. The part that they show as their USP is their dirtiest secret. The area near to the river is smelly and unkempt. I am not exaggerating, trust me. Go watch out for yourself and then say, Kabini bol ke Nala me kuda diya. 5. No dish tv connection. There is TV in the room but of no use. It is not a big problem usually but with no wifi and slow data, we thought that TV could be our saviour. But even after multiple calls and reminders to the reception desk it was not taken care of. That's all folks. If you are still reading then you have enough reasons to save your money and stay away from this pitiful place. Happy if I could help!
