Hotel Atenea Port Barcelona Mataro Reviews

This hotel is far away from Barcelona city centre, but next to R1 railway station and have a nice sea view. Hotel toiletries can be more well equipped as a 4-star hotel, e.g. providing sleepers and hair conditioner.

It's close to the seaside and convenient for travel. You can see the sunrise over the sea from your room in the morning, which is very beautiful. Hygienic and clean, good service attitude. The breakfast is rich. I will consider staying here next time.

Very good

Very good experience. We got a room with wonderful views of the port. The only drawback is that we requested a room with a double bed and they gave us 2 single beds. The girl at the reception, very friendly, told us that the agency (Trip) had not indicated that we wanted a double bed.

There was no kettle cover in the room. The hygiene was average. The underground parking was very narrow. The breakfast was very rich. The geographical environment was very good. It faced the sea, but it was too far from Barcelona. It was 42 kilometers away from the Sagrada Familia.

The inexplicable charges have to collect our breakfast money at all. Not to mention that you take an hour and a half to the town. not worth

Very good hotel

The hotel is a perfect base for exploring Barcelona whilst not staying in the city itself. The train to the city is regular and opposite the hotel and it runs late into the evening. The hotel staff were attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast was plentiful and of lots of good quality choices. The bedrooms are modern and clean. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it highly.

Too small for my review!! It is not a 4 star hotel. Reception staff showed no customer service, and her demeanor gave the impression of total disinterest. The hotel room had a wonderful view of the port, but the layout was poorly thought out. The room was very dark with lighting in the wrong place. Lights by bed were too bright, no central light in the room. Worse still, the bathroom had no storage for toiletries, hooks for towel or clothing. Unbelievably, the hooks were in the toilet that was in a separate space with a sliding door. There are certain expectations in a 4 star, such as slippers or a glass for your drinks. No such luck! we had plastic cups. On asking, reception handed out cardboard expresso cups. It was not until 4 days later that the cleaner replaced the cups. Food was very disappointing. Breakfast consisted of a buffet with what looked like poor shop bought sliced bread. Not even fresh rolls for a 4 star! The tortilla was soggy. How can you get that wrong in Spain? Even worse, no proper coffee in Spain. Tried to "enjoy" the hotel bar ordering two cocktails. These were disgusting. A pina colada was poured from a bottle, not handmade, with a small pineapple slice on the glass rim for effect. it was awful! a poor man's fake Baileys if that with an after taste. The hotel website boasts room service but there was none! Both reception & kitchen said we needed to buy the meal and bring it to our room ourselves! I would not recommend this hotel at all.
