The loud music in the kitchen was playing even after the midnight. ( I fell asleep roughly after 1am). Also, there's heavy machinery operating. I had no idea what it was but the vibration in the floor was obvious (L1, 8-bed).
Not as good as the rooms on L3 (4-bed) but you get what you pay for. (8-bed room this time)
Interestingly, you could possibly get a lower rate on Trip (see photo).

Really lovely stay! Enjoyed the comfy and private bunks in the shared dorms. Plus the kitchen is super social (and stacked with everything you'd need to cook). You're also right in town, opposite Flinder's Street station

I am travelling alone. Given I am watching a couple of night sessions at Australian Open I need somewhere which is within walking distance from the Melbourne Park. Overall you get what you paid for. One bed in a dorm of 8 ppl costs just under HKD $300 is a good price. The atmosphere in the hostel is good and those youth are enjoying themselves just like my boarding school days, just that now I am approaching half century. The shared washroom, bathroom and kitchen are good. The bed is with limited space with a cupboard where you can lock with your own lock which I am glad I took one. There was a bit of smell in the cabin I stayed and hence I believe that is why all four fans as well as the windows are always on. Staff is helpful and well mannered. I would say it is very reasonable given the price.

The place is okay. I had a good stay in my room. They’re kinda strict with check out time tho. Few minutes before check out time at 11, the staff went to the room to remind me I have to check out and I asked her for a few minutes because I had to shower. When I went back to the room, my key card doesn’t work anymore. They already locked it for me because it’s check out time. I won’t go back to this hostel. Tho I had good breakfast at Howm.

A muggy and windy night so the room didn't cope too well with the conditions. Easily one of the better run hostels I have been in and the staff and guests were very friendly and kind.
