Booked this holiday last minute and to be fair we got a good deal for a 7 day half board holiday. Check in at reception wasn’t very smooth as despite having our passports and booking voucher she was still putting us in someone elses room with a totally different name. Positive notes, she quickly corrected her mistake and gave us the correct key with a map of where the room and facilities were. The room was basic but a good size bedroom, bathroom with shower and living space with a kitchenette with hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. A nice size patio with table and chairs plus a maiden for drying towels and costumes. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. The outside areas are tired and poorly maintained and not very clean. We opened our door and a gust of wind brought in all the muck and rubbish from outside, including cigarette ends, lolly sticks and a large ball of hair. After a sand storm the area around the pool and sunbeds were covered in sand that became muddy in consistency when wet. That remained until another storm washed it away. On the first evening we arrived at the pool bar for our evening meal. A waitress brought us menus but when we explained we were half board she took away those menus and gave us a piece of paper with a choice of two starters, two mains and three desserts. Advertised as a la carte, we felt the limited options weren’t very good but made our choice of starter and main. The starter, pasta bolognese was tasty, but the main, chicken and chips was so salty we couldn’t eat it. Dessert was cake of the day, fruit of the day or ice cream. We weren’t given a choice but just had two tubs of ice cream and a spoon slammed in front of us as all our plates had been. The waitress seemed overworked as she was on her own and we felt she didn’t have time for us. The following morning at breakfast we were presented with a full menu and told we could choose anything. However, we didn’t receive everything listed on a continental breakfast even though other patrons did and the plates were slammed on the table again. This did leave us confused about whether we ordered off the menu or not so we asked at reception and she told us to speak to bat staff. A lovely man on the bar explained the options properly, which is how we then found out we should have had a drink included with our evening meal and a choice of cake, fruit or three different flavours of ice cream. However, that evening the options didn’t appeal to us so we ate out and the following evening the steak was swimming in olive oil and inedible. So we contacted Jet2 and quickly got a refund to downgrade to self catering so we could eat out. Finally, on our fifth evening, which was my birthday, there was a thunder storm with very heavy rain. When we got up we discovered dirty water throughout the bedroom and apar**ent, with our suitcases wet and bedding sodden where it had touched the water. This can’t be helped but despite reporting it to reception no one came to our ro
