Good place. Nice staff. Great swimming pool. But need more maintenance on room. Very old and lots of ants. My daughter got bites.

Overall, it was okay, but things were a little slow. I had to wait for an hour to check in. The WiFi was sent by the housekeeper after contacting Ctrip customer service. There are basically no people in the area who speak Chinese. The hotel has a swimming pool, breakfast is included, you can see the beach, and the train passes by at 5 o'clock in the morning. Thank you Berajaya Hotel Mt. Lavinia for giving us a beutiful staycation. My kids wanted both kids pool and beach access and Berajaya Hotel Mt. Lavinia is the one and only place that came to my mind. Kids loved the pool expereince. Most importantly this hotel is probably the only hotel that gives guests the experience to witness train rides down coatal line from their own room! My kids loved witnessing the frequent train rides thet saw from the room. We went during the weekdays and therefore there was absolutely no rush in the hotel. The lunch we had on the day we checked out was too good! Also I want to give a big shout out to the staff at the hotel. They were so warm and friendly from the begiining of our staycation. Thank you for everything. Generally my husband is very partcular about where we spend holidays and I kust say that you won my husband's heart Berajaya Colombo!. Looking forward to come back again!! Thanks once again💕😍

we stayed one night,the way of the reception old man is worst,he is not even to welcome and not bothered to see our faces.he is siply sitting and watching computer.restaurant smell is very bad and food taste and quality is worst.luckages we need to carry send floor,no body help us.WASTE OF OUR MONEY

This is our 4th time there.We are stay in there at two nights.the front office staff there are very frfriendly. The room we received was very good, but the kettle in it was not very good.When we saw it, we immediately called housekeeping and asked for a new kettle. Although they agreed with him, it took an hour. They did not replace the kettle.We let the front office know about it later, and after that, the kettle was given to us. The restaurant was quite busy, which was the second thing that caught my attention. On the second day, when we went to have breakfast, we couldn't find a table. Numerous tables were vacant, but none of them had been cleaned.We ate breakfast at a dirty table after waiting a long time. The third thing is that there was a woman on the staff. She looked at us strangely. There was an absence of a smile. She wore a red dress that was short. It's probable that she didn't take us seriously because we're Sri Lankan people. Overall, the hotel is excellent, but the service is subpar.

Stayed at the Berjaya for 23 days in March. The staff went above and beyond to look after us, especially Leo, Warren and numerous others. The food was very nice and they accommodated our requests for extra items. The rooms were well cleaned and looked after and the housekeeping staff were very good. Overall a great stay, will definitely be staying there again. Mr K. London

My wife and I spent 2 weeks (February 2024) in the hotel. We found all the staff very friendly especially Daya, Kapila Livera, Roy (in reception), Leo (other staff in restaurant) and Dhakshina (in house keeping). They made our stay very comfortable. The pool was nice & clean with plenty of deck chairs with towels. We had a relaxed holiday and would like to go again to this hotel when we visit Sri Lanka next time. The staff at the hotel Berjaya are the highlight of the place. Everyone is so friendly and eager. Nikita was especially helpful at her job, and as a translator for the rest of the staff, she is a true gem. The rooms, although a bit dilapidated, are nice. The AC was very good. Everything could use some maintenance and a fresh coat of paint. The showers could use some careful attention, but they weren't the worst I have seen. The matresses need replacement, I had bloody springs in my back all night, but again, for the cost, it's not unreasonable. The wost part of the whole stay was probably the food. Food safety isn't taught or practiced. Food is half warmed in chafing dishes, not properly held at standard temperature, and although the flavor is good, the quality becomes questionable after you taste it, leaving you with a rumble in the gut and literally caused me to vomit. Although the cooking staff is extremely helpful and excited to serve you, it doesn't make up for what they are serving. Access to the beach is grand. Just watch the trains, and if you don't like the sounds of crows, you should probably stay elsewhere. Overall, our stay was pleasant. It feels like this used to be a grand hotel 20 years ago, but like the place was bought by owners who only stuff their pockets and aren't worried about reinvestment into their property. The wonderful staff definitely deserve better, and the hotel itself which isn't too far gone to save, deserves better as well.

This place is gross. Its dirty, they dont even bother to clean the table cloths, much less the showers. The matresses are at least 10 years old and have been ran over by several steam rollers leaving only the springs that stab you at night. There is no nice way to say this but this place is terrible. It doesnt deserve the rating it has, the staff is the only recompense. They are lovely, kind and courteous. They are very warm and nice. They ade the saving gracw of this once nice hotel.
