This time, I brought my parents to Nujiang, and we chose the Youjian Mountain Homestay in Lushui. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be the most satisfying stop of our entire trip. The owner contacted us in advance, sent the location and road condition reminders, and even helped us with our luggage upon arrival – they were incredibly friendly. The homestay's location is quiet and convenient for visiting Liuku and the Nujiang River. Parking for self-driving was also hassle-free. The small courtyard is well-maintained and comfortable, filled with flowers and plants. My parents immediately sat in the courtyard, basking in the sun and drinking tea, saying it felt like returning to their hometown. The room was clean and tidy, with a cozy, natural wood style, and mountain views from the window. The bedding was just right in terms of firmness, and my elderly parents slept very soundly. There was plenty of hot water, the bathroom was clean, and the soundproofing was good, making it especially quiet at night. Breakfast consisted of hot rice noodles or 'er si' (a local noodle dish), along with side dishes and eggs – light yet delicious. The owner also enthusiastically helped us plan our route and recommended eateries known only to locals, saving us a lot of detours. The most memorable part was sitting on the terrace at night, enjoying the breeze, stargazing, and listening to the sounds of insects. It was incredibly relaxing. My parents kept saying, 'This homestay was a great choice; we'll definitely stay here again next time.' If the owner has the money, they should upgrade the facilities; it's simply not worth the price.
