Rhydwenfa is located in the historic harbour town of Porthmadog.A detached house which accommodates 11 people with 5 bedrooms & 5 bathrooms.Spacious living accommodation comprises a kitchen/ diner, utility, large lounge with wood burning stove & 2nd sitting room to enjoy glorious mountain, estuary & town views.5 bedrooms; Ground Floor - 1 x twin1st Floor - 2 x king, 1 x twin and 1 x family (king & single)Rhydwenfa also has 2 outdoor seating areas and off road parking for up to 6 cars.The house is in the final stages of an extensive renovation scheme and will be ready by early July. Interior photos will follow.Like my other properties, Rhydwenfa will be furnished to a five star standard. For an idea of the finished standard of Rhydwenfa please see my other properties listed on VRBO.Any questions please askRhydwenfa is ideally situated on a quiet street in the centre of the bustling Victorian harbour town of Porthmadog. Porthmadog is located to the east of the popular Llyn Peninsular and adjacent west of the Snowdonia National Park in North West Wales. It is a popular tourist town with an impressive marina situated on the Glaslyn Estuary. Porthmadog is rich in maritime history and in times gone by, it was a vital, busy shipping port for the international slate trade, brought down from Blaenau Ffestiniog. Both the Welsh Highland Railway and Ffestiniog Railway can be boarded at Porthmadog. Porthmadog has an wide range of cafes, shops and pubs. A short 15 minute walk along the coastal path to the west takes you to the lovely village of Borth y Gest. This pretty unspoilt village has retained its Victorian charm with colourful terraced houses fronting onto a horseshoe-shaped promenade that skirts the perimeter of this sheltered bay where small boats are moored. Amenities in the village include two tea rooms, and a wonderful bistro restaurant all of which overlook the harbour.Several beautiful beaches are within easy reach. Borth y Gest beach is within a 20 minute walk, whilst Black Rock Sands is a short drive away.Further afield are the attractive towns of Criccieth, Beddgelert, Harlech, Pwllheli, Nefyn and Abersoch.The Snowdonia National Park begins a mere 3 miles from Rhydwenfa and is a magnificent playground for those who love walking, mountain climbing or just scenery watching. The Park covers 823 square miles of diverse landscapes. As well as being the largest National Park in Wales, Snowdonia boasts the highest mountain in Wales, and the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as a wealth of picturesque villages like Beddgelert (8miles).Snowdonia is renowned for being a very special place for walkers with mountain peaks, lakes, forests, rivers and coastal areas. The National Park is working on developing a network of walks and more will be added every year. In addition Snowdonia National Park has a vast amount of cycling and mountain biking trails suitable for all abilities. The Park also hosts other outdoor activities such as Zip World, white water rafting and climbing.Portmeirion is a popular tourist village located just outside of Porthmadog, approximately 3 miles from Rhydwenfa. It is Wales’ 3rd largest visitor attraction attracting 250, 000 visitors in 2009. Portmeirion was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village, which is now is now acknowledged as a unique architectural work of art. The village is now owned by a charitable trust. The village stands on a rugged cliff top on its own private peninsula overlooking Cardigan Bay. It is surrounded by 145 acres of sub-tropical woodlands and miles of sandy beaches. The village has always been run as a hotel, which uses the majority of the buildings as hotel rooms, together with shops, a cafe, tea-room, and restaurant. Portmeirion has served as the location for numerous films and television shows, most famously serving as The Village in the 1960s television show The Prisoner. The show became a cult classic, and fans continue to visit Portmeirion, which hosts annual Prisoner fan conventions.The stunning location of the Porthmadog golf club offers an intriguing mixture of heathlands and linksland for the discerning golfer.Rhydwenfa provides the ideal holiday destination from which to explore the fantastic beaches, beautiful mountains, picturesque villages, and the host of activities Northwest Wales has to offer. Ty Harbwr is a Victorian 4 storey terraced house located in the bustling historic harbour town of Porthmadog.The house benefits from amazing uninterrupted Harbour and Snowdonia Mountain views.Ty Harbwr accommodates a total of 9 people with 4 bedrooms & 2.5 bathrooms.The house has been lovingly refurbished over the winter and spring of 2023/24 and will be completed and ready for guests from May 2024 onwards.The photos will be updated throughout the month of April 2024.The spaceThe layout of Ty Harbwr is as followsLower Ground Floor (Garden/ Patio level);Large Kitchen/ Diner & WCThe modern kitchen contains all the appliances and equipment to cater for big family meals. Appliances include an oven, hob, large freestanding 70:30 fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle (essential !), De'Longhi Dolce Gusto coffee pod machine, large slow cooker and 4 slice toaster.There is a large dining table and chairs to comfortably seat 9.Next to the dining table, there is also a sofa area to accommodate relaxed pre or post meal chatter.Patio doors lead out onto the small fenced patio area where guests can enjoy those spectacular harbour views from the garden bench or picnic table.There is also a separate WC provided on this level.Ground (Street Level);There are 2 lounges provided on this level.A larger one to the rear to enjoy those amazing views and then a smaller lounge to the front (earmarked for the kids!). Both lounges have flat screen TVs.First Floor;There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor. A good sized king room (with the views) and then a smaller king room to the front of the house (street view). Please note that the king bed in this bedroom room is pushed up against the wall, so this particular bedroom may not suit everyone in your group.There are also two bathrooms on the first floor. Specifically there is a family bathroom (with WC, sink & shower over a bath) and a shower room (WC, sink and enclosed shower cubicle).Second Floor;On the second (top) floor, there are two bedrooms.A spacious family bedroom is located at the back (again, with those views) and comprises a king bed and a single bed.The final bedroom is twin bedroom that is located to the front of the house.The location of Ty Harbwr is fantastic and provides easy access to Porthmadog town centre (a 2 minute walk) with all it's many cafes, shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. In the opposite direction the gorgeous village and beaches of Borth y Gest are only a 10 to 15 minute walk away.The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways can be boarded in Porthmadog. Or alternatively you can watch the steam trains chug backwards and forwards from the comfort of your own sofa. You can easily spot the steam trains from Ty Harbwr as they travel along the Cob, which is a man-made causeway built in 1811 across the Afon Glaslyn Estuary.Further afield, Porthmadog is only a stones throw from the spectacular Snowdonia National Park and all the activities on offer. It is equally perfectly positioned for all the amazing beaches that can be found all along the beautiful Llyn Peninsula and Cambrian Coast. The beaches of Black Rock Sands, Harlech, Criccieth, Abersoch etc etc, all of which are all within an easy drive.Other things to note***** Please note that as Ty Harbwr is a terraced house, located in a quiet area with neighbours either side. Unfortunately we can only accept bookings from quiet family groups or mature/sensible groups of friends. Loud music, partying and drunken behaviour is strictly prohibited. The outside patio area must also be vacated by 9pm at the latest. Sorry :<(We welcome one or two well behaved dogs, although we ask that dogs are strictly not allowed upstairs (we provide a stairgate) or on the furniture.If you bring a dog, an additional cleaning charge of £35 is applied to the cost of the holiday. Thank you.Easy, unrestricted on-street parking can be found on Garth Road, directly outside Ty Harbwr. At busy times you may have to park further up Garth Road.
