Extremely comfortable, coming back to a good night's sleep after a day of diving is an absolute must. The beds were incredibly comfortable and super clean, with two 1.5-meter beds, making it perfect for families with two kids. It's only about a ten-minute drive from town, and the hotel car offers convenient pick-up and drop-off, usually within ten minutes. Huge thanks to the owner for their thoughtful care; they're a wonderful Chinese host, and communication was seamless. Five-star review!

The guesthouse was definitely worth my money and stay. The family room was comfortable and surprisingly spacious enough for five people. Upon entering the room, my first impression was how cozy and aesthetically pleasing it looked. The beds were comfortable and dust-free, while the bathroom and toilet were also clean. However, the room was not spacious enough to accommodate an extra bed, and we had to rearrange some of the furniture to make space for our luggage. As for the common areas, there was a spacious communal dining and relaxation area where people could spend time with friends and family. It’s also nice of them to provide instant noodles for breakfast. It was convenient when we were in a hurry, as we could quickly prepare a meal before heading out. Another helpful facility was the laundry room upstairs. After our water activities, we were able to wash our bathing suits immediately and hang them up to dry. The location was also very convenient, as we did not have to walk far to find food or explore the area. There were many nearby restaurants and cafes, souvenir shops, and the public jetty within walking distance. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay even though it was only for two nights. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Semporna.

The room was very clean and had a small balcony perfect for smoking. Xiao Hei was incredibly helpful, carrying our luggage and always turning on the A/C before we returned, so the room was always cool and refreshing. We accidentally left a bag behind when we checked out, but after contacting the owner, they kindly mailed it to our next destination. We're so grateful! 🙏 The hotel's location is also excellent, very close to the pier and restaurants. All in all, we were really satisfied!

Location is centrally placed in the Town and with that comes some annoyances: street noise, stray fighting dogs and loud neighbours, including some guests who ignore the ” from 10pm quiet rule ” ear plugs are essential. Outdoor shoes to be removed at the front door. 100Riggit is taken at checkin and reimbursed on check-out. I had the double bunk bed room. Comfortable wide bed with bedside lamp ,a bonus. No wardrobes,could do with more hanging hooks. Shared bathrooms. There were three showers and three toilets which I never had to queue for one. Each shower room and toilet was supplied with flipflops. Loads of 'do's' and 'don'ts” notices everywhere with threats of heavy monetary penalties. AC worked well, I hate hard floors so used soft slippers in my room. Everywhere is spotlessly clean in the common areas as mentioned, although my room wasn't or rubbish emptied in the three days I was there. The kitchenette was adequate for hot drinks but someone else was cooking breakfast in the microwave. Resident cat's still present. The bus terminal for Tawau is about 50metres down the road,extremely convenient!

My stay at 'Fairy Tale Wonderland Resort' in Semporna completely exceeded my expectations. Let's start with transportation: the hotel offers a shuttle service that picks you up directly from the airport, which was a huge convenience. The driver was incredibly friendly and even gave us tips on where to exchange money and reliable dive shops. The accommodation was fantastic. The room had wooden floors and a high ceiling, and it felt clean and dry. The bed was super soft, and the pillows weren't flat at all. The big sea turtle plushie on the bed was absolutely adorable. Both the fan and air conditioning were quiet at night, ensuring a very restful sleep. The courtyard felt like a small garden with coconut trees, flower walls, and colorful signs. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the woven hanging chair and zone out; every photo I took turned out beautifully. The food deserves a special mention. For dinner, we ordered steamed crab, mantis shrimp, soy-sauce steamed fish, and a plate of water spinach. The freshness was undeniable, and the cooking was perfectly executed, bringing out the natural flavors of the seafood without being overly salty or greasy. Overall, the hotel's attention to detail in service was excellent: convenient transfers, clean and comfortable rooms, and high-quality food. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in Semporna, I highly recommend staying here.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The owner was a lovely and friendly young lady who spoke fluent Chinese. There were several small supermarkets nearby, making things very convenient. The ice cream was also delicious and inexpensive. If you're interested, you should definitely check it out!

I had a fantastic stay at Sunshine in Semporna! This hotel is brand new and impeccably clean, which made my stay incredibly comfortable. Most importantly, they have a elevator. The staff were exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond—when I requested a change from my booked room (without a balcony), they kindly upgraded me without any hassle. While the hotel isn’t right by the sea or jetty pier, it’s just a short 10-minute walk away, which I found very manageable. As a solo traveler, safety was a top priority, and I felt completely secure walking around the area, even at 9 PM. The location is a huge plus—it’s in the heart of Semporna, surrounded by gold shops and plenty of eateries serving delicious local food. I actually preferred this spot over the pier area, which can feel crowded and has many homeless children asking for money or food. The only minor downsides were that the hot water wasn’t quite hot enough and there was some barking from dogs at night. However, the dogs were very friendly and didn’t bother me for food, so it wasn’t a big issue. Overall, Sunshine Bouquet Hotel is a gem for solo travelers or anyone looking for a clean, safe, and convenient stay in Semporna. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for less than 24 hours since our night flight arrived Tawau 8.30pm, and then airport transfer to Semporna took about 1.5 hours. Called the hotel earlier informing that we will be arriving late, and there are still receptionist waiting for us to check in. They even helped us bring our bags to the room. Only few things lacking - the aircond is not too cold, and then the water shower is too hot 🫠 we are too tired to complaint so we just accept it. Location wise very very strategic. Very near to jetty and got watsons, guardian, 7e, mart, halal restaurant.

Really basic hotel. All of the other reviews are correct about the state of it but the location is perfect!!! So close to the best restaurant area and by the water. I would highly recommend staying in this area of semporna. Just know that you're getting a basic room.

I chose this hotel for a one-night stay before heading to the overwater bungalow the next day. Although the room facilities were a bit old, they were very clean. There's a convenience store right downstairs, and it's very close to the pier. The sea breeze was a bit loud at night, but the breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
