I generally visited Maracaibo for work reasons until 2013, and I remember that my last experience with the Hotel del Lago was bad, bad maintenance, bad service, etc. Last week, I had to return to Maracaibo and decided to give it another chance, without knowing that as of 2017 the hotel chain Tibisay had taken over the hotel, now calling it Tibisay Hotel del Lago and I must say that I was pleasantly impressed. I made the reservation through Booking, where I indicated an early check-in, and within minutes I received an email from the hotel's Marketing Manager -Lic. Victoria Saluzzo-, who kindly requested my identity card to proceed with the early check-in, without mystery, without additional payment, without objections, just as has happened to me in other hotels. I had dinner at the Mykonos restaurant, specialized in Greek food, but also with other international options, including sushi and the food was truly spectacular, in addition to being able to enjoy dinner on the shores of Lake Maracaibo. As for breakfast, they really still have some details to iron out (they didn't have any natural juices, or options for those of us who don't consume sugar), and it really took a while for them to get me some fruit. It lacks update**** in many aspects. It didn't have hot water, nor soap. I needed to check in early and there was no one at reception. Nothing to do with Margarita's TIBISAY Hotel. Pleasant experience, the Bellman very cordial and friendly
