The hotel is close to the west gate, the walk to the main streets is not too long so you can get straight to enjoying the city. The room was comfortable and had everything needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful, although they did try to sell many different things. I would stay there again if I came back to Pingyao

I’m French and had a wonderful time at Elsewhere Hotel. It’s a beautiful historic place with a lovely inner courtyard, always calm and pleasant. The whole hotel is tastefully decorated, and my room was very comfortable and welcoming. The women on the staff were all incredibly kind, helpful, and available – I had especially great conversations with Fanny. I would come back without hesitation!

This hotel is really cute and the facilities were great! The location is really convenient for exploring the old town, and easy to reach from the West Gate, and the service is really gracious. They gave me a map and drew the best route to see the main spots with a really detailed explanation! Speciel mention for Helen who helped me throughout my stay! Would definitely stay here again if I ever were to visit Pingyao again. I also really enjoyed the courtyard with the couches that stayed dry and cozy when it was raining one evening😄

Good position near west gate but also in walking distance of the main ancient city attractions. Service is very friendly and engaged, on check-in I got a detailed briefing on a sightseeing round as well as restaurant recommendations and discount vouchers. Nice ancient style room and courtyard with modern amenities. Overall very good value for money and a recommendation.

We had a fantastic stay. The hotel is situated in a beautiful traditional building with a large courtyard in a quiet street of the old city centre of Pingyao, close to the musea, temples and restaurants, Our room was large, beautifully furnished and had a functional modern bathroom. It was such a pleasure to relax and listen in the courtyard to the sounds of the birds. To make this place even nicer was the very welcoming and efficient staff, manager Alice - who speaks excellent English - and her two lovely colleagues. Highly recommended!

I was really impressed with this hotel, especially at night. It's STUNNING inside the hotel interior. The hotel is located near the Westgate inside the ancient city, where all the taxis are, very convenient if you plan on visiting some temples outside the ancient city. The taxis can't go inside the ancient city but that's not a problem, you only need to walk a short distance before you get to the hotel. The reception greeted me to a surprisingly warm welcome, even after 9 years in China..I have to say this was the most welcomed I've been in a hotel. The receptionist was very kind and spoke some English. As far as the rooms go, the hotel's aesthetic along with the rooms have a very rustic vibe, but don't worry the rooms are clean and the shower is warm. Will definitely recommend this one to everyone.

Very stylish hotel inside the historic town. Good breakfast. Everything within walking distance. They will give you a city map and a recommendation for a very nice old town walk. It is further away from loud bars for a good night sleep. 10 minutes to local bus stop which will take you to the high speed train station for 1 yuan. The same bus stops at the Shuanglin Temple, too.

An atmospheric boutique hotel inside the Ancient Walled city. Very thoughtfully and tastefully furnished, down to the little details. We were told it is a 400-yr old hotel that has been continuously a hotel, with modifications over the decades to adapt to the changes... and it is quite visible. The courtyard is a winner!

Booked two rooms for five poeple (two children). Fair price and good location. Will book it again, if go to PingYao.

Great location, hotel staff is very nice and some of the employees speak English. Beautiful building… All of this makes this hotel a very nice place for a week-end !
