Royal Hotel and Suites

Choosing to do a solo trip so I could completely get away from all of the usual stresses and strains of what life entails, I wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing to enjoy a week of complete rest and recuperation, seeing this hotel advertised as “small and friendly” it looked ideal and what an absolute find! From the lovely receptionist when I checked in who was informative and helped me carry my case (no mean feat!) through to the guys in the restaurant who only had to be told my room number once and also my preferred drink, to the super polite and lovely guy on the bar. Hospitality staff work such long hours but you would never have known it here all the staff are friendly, bubbly and truly amazing! The hotel is small, exceptional clean and well kept, quiet which is what I wanted, no evening or day entertainment which suited me perfectly. The food for an all inclusive is completely spot on, the chefs do an amazing job. The snack bar which serves burgers/fries etc early afternoon then turns in to an al a carte restaurant in the afternoon which I didn’t eat at as a little to early for me so I chose to eat in the buffet restaurant, the food is delicious and very Greek which is refreshing not to be bombarded with pizza, sausage, chips and anything else beige, they do offer this but only a small amount. The restaurant is beautiful with outside seating and a water feature. Genuinely a pleasure to stay at this hotel and I’m going home fully recharged!

This was our very first visit to Greece and we were certainly not disappointed! The Royal Hotel &Suites in Polychrono is a fabulous place. We were greeted with warmth and friendliness on our arrival and made to feel very welcome by every member of staff at this exceptional, family run hotel throughout the whole of our stay. We stayed in a junior suite with our own private pool which was modern, spacious and spotlessly clean. Super comfy bed, fantastic bathroom with walk in shower and kitchen/living area all of which were cleaned on a daily basis to an exceptionally high standard. All areas of the hotel are immaculately kept including the restaurant which I can honestly say served some of the best all-inclusive food I have experienced. There was plenty of choice for us as vegetarians including a fantastic salad selection plus the wonderful show cooking from chef Dimitri who was always happy to serve at breakfast and dinner and was very entertaining! Overall, I would not hesitate to revisit or to recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone wanting a super relaxed holiday with fabulous food & drinks and amazing Greek hospitality. 🇬🇷

Me and my family have just returned from a great week in Halkidiki, Greece. Our stay at Royal Hotel and suites was great. The hotel was more than what we could think of. The atmosphere, the staff, the food... Everything was top, we liked that there were not many people in the village but if you prefer it busier, you better go later in June as the village of Polyhrono was just starting getting ready for summer. Special thanks to Olga (the lady that looked after our room during our stay!), she always made sure our space was proper!!

Despite the poor weather for our visit we had a really lovely time. We booked a suite with a private pool which was great, the room was well presented, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. The privacy was really great. The staff were exceptional, Joanna in particular was fabulous. She met all our needs with no problems and gave us great advice on where to explore. The chef was bananas but very entertaining and enthusiastic. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming and provided a fantastic service, a real credit to the hotel. My only criticism would be that the food could do with a little improvement. We were B&B only so can’t comment on the other meals but we were hoping for a bit more variation, the selection was fairly carb heavy. It wasn’t bad mind you so we still ate there every morning. The local dishes were nicely done. We hired a car which was a plus and the hotel has free parking located close to the hotel. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Hotel, we would recommend it.

I read a few posts on Trip Advisor before travelling and I was a little bit worried about our stay at the Royal Hotel and Suites. As vegans we are often limited and used to buying our own milks, cheeses and yoghurts from local shops. We never expect any special treatment but the comments about repetition and lack of variety made us concerned. We are reliant on there being a selection of fruit, vegetables, bread, rice and lentils or beans. In our experience the simple but delicious, traditional fayre far exceeded expectations. We ate well. From observing the staff on site it appears to be a family run affair and that energy is definitely translated in to the dining room. We felt as though we were being welcomed in to someone's home to enjoy nourishing food prepared with love. Alongside the hearty beef stews, freshly grilled fish and vibrant feta salads were lots of Nistisima (Lenten) mains which we understand to be naturally plant based. A few of our highlights included the Greek Butter Beans (Gigantes Plaki), Greek Spinach Rice (Spanakoryzo), Stuffed Vegetables with Rice (Yemista), Stuffed Vine Leaves (Dolmades), Greek Lentil Soup (Fakes), Greek Green Peas Stew and Greek Roast Potatoes. The staff work very hard to ensure you are happy and that the environment is peaceful and spotlessly clean. Rooms are reset daily, unless you make it clear that you don't want anyone visiting. As well as sufaces being cleaned and floors being mopped, fresh towels and complementary coffee pods are always available. From the bar and restaurant to the cleaning and maintenance, nothing is ever too much trouble. Everyone we passed offered us a friendly smile or greeting. The kindness, hospitality and strong work ethic of the Greek people is evident here.

Good service, good food, great people, what else do I need. I spend a week at Royal Hotel with my wife, we have not much negative to say for this hotel. We enjoyed the staff, the service and mostly the food. The salad bar was great and the greek cuisine dishes... 5 stars review.

Arrived at the hotel in the evening , we had issues with our room broken shower cracked shower screen , gaffer tap on the fridge and the kettle leaked everywhere . And there was 2 sets of stairs my partner has a broken foot . I mentioned to the staff about this and they moved us to a ground floor room . They gave us a Sandwich as the restaurant was closed . Food in there restaurant was unpleasant to say the least I can understand being in Greece they will serve Greek food . Quite happy tp try new dishes . Well all I can say is very unpleasant barely any choice of food there was always spaghetti bolognase repative mornings afternoon and evenings . Mentioned about the food quality and lack of choice. Very unprofessional response from manager staff started making comments , horrible atmosphere . Receptionist moaned at us never experienced this before I'm a frequent traveller and never had this happen ever . Family run business got fed up with it in the end . Really bad atmosphere bar man was also rude . Manager told us we was committing fraud god knows how . We was waiting from secret escapes to get in contact with us that they had found us another hotel which they said there was no rooms anywhere else We found a hotel in the end the manager has refused to refund us deleted our booking . There's to much to put in this review how awful this was . The beach is 15 mins away yes they have a mini bus but after them treating us in a unprofessional manner and then making comments to my sister in laws and brother in law when we left was a disgrace . They said they where still putting out the sane dishes everyone was moaning about the food . Do not recommend this hotel

I will start by saying the rooms were very good and kepted very clean by the Very nice cleaners. Clean sheets every other day. The beds around the pool were so uncomfortabl with no pads. All inclusive 10am to 10pm after that drinks 9eros a pop. The food very poor the same every day. There was however a very good Chef who cooked a choice like pasta and meat dishes...steak was so tough The private beach was much more enviting with so comfortable beds. The restaurant was good but you have to pay for this. Beware. This hotel in our opinion is not a four star.

Wonderful family run hotel in a great location. All the staff were fantastic (special mention to Kostas and Joanna in reception and Paul in the pool bar and all the waiters in the restaurant). Everywhere was spotless, the food in the restaurant was great. It's only a 2 minute walk to the main high street and the connection it has to the Olivia beach bar is a real bonus. Can't recommend this place highly enough and we can't wait to go back again next year.
