The photos are deceptive. Don’t be fooled. Yes, near the beach but 3 miles from old town and on a busy street. No decent restaurants close. We cancelled as soon as we arrived and we’re still billed for an extra night. Place was empty.

This was our second stay here and it never fails to impress us , so much so we are planning next years stay ! The standards were just the same as last year and service is paramount , nothing is too much for them ! We had a problem with our air conditioning and Thanos on reception arranged for maintenance to look at it and it was done ASAP ! Cannot fault this hotel in any way and to add to that it’s in a perfect location to explore Rethymino ! See you next year !

The fluffiest pillows we’ve ever felt. The hotel was a joy to stay at from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for the efficient & super friendly staff at all times of day & night. The hotel layout was great making it feel spacious without losing its warm friendly atmosphere. The rooms were lovely & clean. Couldn’t fault the breakfast buffet which was varied & fresh each day. This is a lovely hotel - we had a family room right next to the restaurant area, overlooking the beach. The apartment was bright and spacious, breakfasts were excellent and staff were very pleasant. The front pool was great with the best sun loungers I’ve ever used. Beach just opposite was also great although I’d recommend pool shoes as the sea is a little rocky. It’s 40 minutes walk up to Rethymnon old town which was just stunning. It had a good little kids club area which my son liked to visit. My only negative comment, and it’s really minor, related to our flight times. We arrived at 2am and we left at 8.30pm which meant we couldn’t keep our room until we departed. We were able to use the shower room but it was logistically tricky for 3 of us with bags and cases and there was no hairdryer. It would have been so much better if we could have had a room to use for an hour or so. However, we did have a lovely time here

We had a great experience at Grecotel Plaza Beach House. The welcoming was great, the rooms are spacious and clean, the food was delicious and with lots of varieties for every taste. We enjoyed the 2 swimming pools that are constantly supervised by a member of the staff for kids' safety. The staff was very friendly and they helped us with car rental and gave us some visiting tips. The hotel is near Rethimno, not too far from the city, but still in a more quiet place, just as we wanted. We could sleep well at night because it wasn't loudly at all. It is also located near the beach, so this is very important, especially if you have kids. Thank you, Grecotel Plaza, for an amazing experience!

Really nice accommodation and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Nice pool and beach beds which are free to use and you are served on wherever you choose to sit for the day. Takes 30-40 mins to walk into town which was no problem for us and could stop for a cocktail on the way with a sunset beach view.

Very nice hotel that resembles the courtyard of a small Greek village with rooms and apartments and balconies in many colors. Good breakfast and very friendly employees. We had a family room with a private pool. The hotel also has 2 swimming pools and a number of smaller ones for children. Room(s) also have a kitchenette with refrigerator and oven. Both rooms of our family apartment had well-functioning air conditioners, which are necessary given the temperatures there.

I enjoyed my stay to Grecotel Plaza Beach House as it is a beautiful hotel with luxury, hospitality, great food and comfort! The view is breathtaking! I really liked the look of the detached houses, it was like a small village. The room was so spacious and cozy, not to mention the jacuzzi bath! I loved having my breakfast by the sea and I should say that I drank one of the best coffees I have ever tasted. The biggest asset was the staff, polite with genuine interest to serve you!
