This beautiful hotel is an oasis of peace and tranquillity amid the hustle and bustle of Rio's Theresa district. While the hotel is chic and stylish, so much though has been given to the comfort of the guests, with thoughtful touches everywhere. Staying here was so magical, I just wish I could have stayed longer. I will just have to make do memories of the incredible breakfasts, lolling by the pool and the cheeky family of marmosets who seem to be the hotel's most ********* guests!

Lots of people have (obviously) said how wonderful Casa Geranio is. I wondered if it was worth adding another review saying the same thing. But I think it is. It’s an amazing place in an extraordinary city. If you have the chance, please seize it. Do be aware though that if you can eat all of one of the breakfasts, you might have no room left for anything else until long into the evening. Run, don’t walk to stay at this most magical sanctuary in Rio. Set amongst the beautiful hills of Santa Teresa, this hidden gem is the perfect place to have respite from the (wonderful) madness of Rio. Perhaps the most special thing about this property is the hosts. Cláudio & Gabriel are a true delight, going out of their way to make your stay just perfect. Casa Geranio is a unique and lovely property, nestled on a hillside in central Rio. The space is a lush oasis of greenery and traditional architecture that makes for a luxurious resting spot after a day of touring the busy city. Our room was ample, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast was exquisite and the service was warm, friendly, and very helpful. Thank you all for everything! I would definitely recommend this hotel for anybody looking to stay in downtown Rio and would surely consider it again if I get the chance to return. I think it's worth mentioning that the walk up hill and the hotel stairs may not be ideal for people with limited mobility.

Unique B&B in charming part of Rio, away from the tourist areas. Lovely hosts and staff. Breakfasts were amazing - changed every day, but always delicious using the freshest produce.

Fantastic stay! Great location — close to bars and restaurants in Lapa and Saint Theresa. Gabriel and Claudio were so friendly and fantastic hosts — the breakfast each morning was so delicious! Amazing pool and grounds — we will definitely be back!

This unique and stylish boutique hotel will not disappoint. The attention to detail offered by Claudio and Gabriel in all aspects of the design, service and atmosphere at Casa Geranio is absolutely perfect. The breakfast is sublime, served on the terrace (new plans afoot to create an even more breathtaking breakfast area next to the pool). Even the crockery, which changes daily, along with the breakfast menu, is stunningly beautiful. Fresh juice smoothies, fruit platter, cold cuts, freshly baked cake and variety of eggs are all presented with precision and care that delights the eye and the tastebuds. What better way to set you up for a busy day exploring the city - or lounging by the pool.

Fantastic spot with great views, and a great deal of charm. Your hosts are always there to look after you and the breakfast you will not forget. Highly recommend.

Casa Geranio is by far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at so far! Not only is it an incredibly beautiful oasis right in the middle of the busy city of Rio de Janeiro, but also the owners are extremely sweet and forthcoming, so we felt very much at home away from home. The rooms are comfortable, clean and stylish. The pool is beautiful and invites for a dip on a sunny day. But the real highlight is the delicious breakfast with fresh smoothies, homemade cake, eggs und fresh fruit. I would recommend this charming place to anyone (preferably slightly younger people as there are many stairs) travelling to Rio.
