Beach Guest House Cleverdale

Stayed here in the en suite room for 9 days in December and I am so greatful to have found this place. The house is directly on the beach. You can sit in the veranda to see the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The room was clean and spacious. the communal areas such as the kitchen are clean and spacious with all the necessary appliances. Around the house within short walking distance you have plenty of supermarkets, resturants and bars and st lawrence gap is 10min walk. Beach is quiet and low tides when i visited. The owner Stephanie and her mum are the kindness people and most helpful hosts ive ever met. She was attentive to all my needs from before arrival until check out. Every question was patiently answered. Stephanie even sorted out all my additional tourist plans with advise on where to go, visit taxi arrangements etc. I will most certainly stay here again and highly recommend to couples and solo travellers who want to experience Barbados outside of its resorts.

It's important to note that this review is rated for a budget stay. For a budget stay less than 150ft to the beach front in Barbados, its an amazing place to be located. I'm here for 6 weeks and at such a great value for what you have it makes sense. Yeah it's not a 4 or 5 star hotel with all the facilities but if that's what you want then expect to pay 4 to 6 times the price per night in comparison to this fantastic budget guest house. The guesthouse owner is very friendly and polite,always ensuring that you have what you need. The rooms are OK and the facilities are great. Superb location on the beach and a 5 minute walk to St Lawrence Gap.

I’ve stayed at Cleverdale 4 times since 2009. My family and I love it. Bridget is an amazing host. The beach is typically amazing and one of our favorites. The sewage issue was an island wide issue that upset many many travelers trips for 6 months. Even my parents had to delay a trip during that time. Cleverdale for a place to rest and keep our stuff while we enjoy the magical Island of Barbados. It’s clean and has all the amenities you need without spending unnecessary money on frills. The island is the frill and the thrill. Don’t go to Barbados if you are a sit in your hotel room all inclusive type of person. Go to Barbados if you like to explore, immerse yourself in local culture and enjoy simple living! As I said Cleverdale is the perfect home base. Clean, Quaint and Central.
