My stay at Caravelle Inn was awful. I had arrived from the airport with one hour to spare from my check in time (3pm) and after asking the man at the front desk if I could have an early check, he completely went ballistic and started yelling at me saying he had no rooms that were ready and that I should stop asking the same questions over and over again (when all I had asked was for a 1-hour early check-in, twice). I have never been treated with such disrespect and hostility by any establishment. What’s worse is we had no place to stay so we were forced to wait until the rooms were ready. Not a great start to my trip at SJ.
The rooms themselves were dingy and outdated. Everything just went south. The wifi didn’t reach our room, which was a big inconvenience since I didn’t have free data, but all they said they would do is restart it which unfortunately did nothing. Our bathroom had holes in the wall and the floors were cracked and dirty. The TV was programmed from years ago so there was really nothing to do besides sleep. The bed was alright but the sheets just seemed like they were half-washed. The pillows had an old smell to them.
Overall, I would give this motel a 0/5 stars. It was a huge let down considering I’ve been to nicer motels that were way more affordable. I had contacted trip.com about my experience with the guy at the front desk but they weren’t able to refund me for my trip, I would’ve gladly stayed at a motel 6 over this place. The only good thing out of this experience was Micky who worked at the front desk. She was really sweet and patient. I would not recommended anyone to stay here, please use your money elsewhere!
