Rockwater Secret Cove Resort

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ‘RESORT’. Please, it is not worth your effort or money to stay at this dated, dirty, and expensive hotel. The wall tents are falling apart, holes, rips in the curtains, in the walls, etc. The ‘resort’ rooms are dingy, dirty, and dated. The small cabins, although updated on the outside and the bathrooms are in poor conditions and are not worth your hard earned dollars. There is no hotel manager on site, nor someone at the hotel to help in case of emergency or after hours issues, such as people playing music at all hours of the night. We were under the impression there was a spa, as stated on their website however this is not the case, no hot tub.. man the list keeps going. Just don’t do it.. my recommendation as a local is to stay at the Painted Boat.

Beautiful spot with great views. Tranquil. Cozy. Private. Staff was great and helpful with all of our needs. It can be a bit of a walk to the farthest tent but it’s so worth it. The privacy and coziness of the tents are just what this couple needed. Beautiful views from multiple vantage points.

We were satisfied with our choice of place to stay for 2 nights on the Sunshine Coast. This was our first visit to Sunshine Coast and was very much on our wishlist,

You have to stay here! This is the best resort that we've ever visited! The views are absolutely remarkable! We stayed in cabin 61 for 2 nights! 59,60 and 61 are our favorite yurts! There right on the ocean, so you can listen to the crashing of the waves against the rocks! The view from these yurts is absolutely stunning! The 2 person jet tub and the rain showers are another great idea. Another perk that we loved Is the fact that there's no children or pets aloud in this area. To get to these yurts you need to walk down a suspended walk way that we called "The Ewok Village" which is as well just stunning! The check in was extremely friendly and efficient, The staff treated us like we were royalty! The owners Michelle and Petr are really working hard to make some amazing updates and have hired the most amazing and friendly staff, from both of our servers Neil and Hailey remarkable, I couldn't even refill my wine glass, Awesome! The chef Martin at the restaurant, we had our lunches and dinners with them, such creative and beautiful dishes full of flavor with every bite! The housekeeping department and Tiffany do a great job at the fine details, from top to bottom, our accommodation's and all of the common areas were meticulously clean and neat! If it's your partners birthday or anniversary, even just a mental break from the world, this it the perfect place. So private, 10 out of 10 for us!

As mentioned no in-house dining was inconvenient, room were full of dust and pet hair on arrival, noises from neighbours upstairs kept us up at night etc. For 285 per night, we expected better amenities, so we barely stayed in our room and spent most of our days outside. A pity for such a beautiful location of the hotel.

I wanted to treat myself for a solo, peaceful retreat as a special birthday trip for myself. The hosts at Rockwater accommodated my request for a premium tentsuite, without hesitation. Everything was perfect. The bed was comfortable, and there was even a selection of pillows to choose from! I do wish I had brought a wagon to transport my luggage and belongings (because I overpacked), but other than that, I would never hesitate to book at the Rockwater Resort.

Recently returned from a two night stay with my family. Overall, we were underwhelmed. Resort is dated and needs some refreshing. The on-site restaurant was closed for renovations and because the vending machine was broken, there’s no food on site, except for a very minimal, free basic breakfast offered each morning (oranges, apples, small pastries and coffee and tea). We made a few trips to Sechelt for food which was inconvenient. The pool was ice cold so you couldn’t use it and without there being a hot tub for the hotel guests to use, there’s next to no activity on site. Cabins are currently under construction so there’s extra noise from that. And there’s some grounds maintenance happening which made it look quite messy. I would not recommend this property at the moment. If management was to put some more love into the property and ensure amenities are up to parentheses , then it could be a great destination, but for now I would spend your money elsewhere.

Bed slats fell in when we sat on it, bed is squishy, there was a musty smell to the bed or linens. Coffee maker did not work, kettle had crud in it that came up when boiled, no microwave, fridge is noisy loud. Exterior of cabin is under construction but dilapidated and dirty. Window seals with dead bugs in them, broken window screen. No restaurant operating. There was garbage laying around on the grounds. This place could be special due to the location but it needs a LOT of work.
