Lotte Hotel Jeju

The hotel's location is truly excellent, and the balcony view is beautiful. The hotel's decor and room furnishings are standard; nothing spectacular, but also nothing uncomfortable. The room isn't huge, but it doesn't feel cramped for two people. The hotel breakfast is good, but it's not cheap, so the value for money feels just average. Setting aside the breakfast price, the hotel still offers good value.

The room itself was great, and the swimming pool was right downstairs. However, you have to pay 30,000 Korean Won for two hours to use the lounge chairs, which was a bit much. The beach wasn't far, but you had to go down a very steep wooden staircase to get there. Also, you couldn't go near the sea to dig in the sand if there was a strong typhoon. The Teddy Bear Museum was within walking distance, and the 7-Eleven right outside the hotel was really convenient. For over 2,000 a night, no breakfast was a bit shocking, but everything else was good. The kids' play area is suitable for children under 5; older kids might find it a bit childish.

I booked this two months in advance, and the front desk gave me a room at the very end of the hall, about a 10-minute walk from the lobby. Everything else was fine. The outdoor pool is huge, but the Koreans are super rigid – they wouldn't let anyone in until exactly 9 AM. The hotel's buffet breakfast is 409 per person, and dinner is 800 per person, which isn't great value for money. However, there's only one convenience store nearby, so cup noodles are the only option for breakfast. The hotel has bowling, a kids' club, and an arcade, which are all nice. You can walk to the beach, but it's a very tiring uphill climb, and you can't swim in the sea.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel's sea view is absolutely stunning; waking up to the ocean and the hotel pool every day was incredibly relaxing! It really maximized the vacation vibe. The walk to the beach offers beautiful scenery, but it's a bit of a trek. Service was generally satisfactory, though there was a minor hiccup when leaving. I had pre-booked the airport shuttle for the next day, and when I mentioned to the staff at the entrance that I had a reservation for the airport bus, they directed me to the public airport shuttle that you have to pay for, instead of the hotel's complimentary shuttle to the airport 🙃 A bit frustrating.

We stayed at Lotte Hotel Jeju in Seogwipo with our two kids for a family trip. The location is absolutely amazing, right in the heart of the Jungmun Tourist Complex. It's just a few minutes' walk to the beach, and taking the kids for a stroll along the coastline in the evening was incredibly pleasant. The Teddy Bear Museum is right next door, so the little ones could visit it easily. Cheonjeyeon Falls is also just a short taxi ride away. The hotel's family-friendly amenities are excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and the room was clean and comfortable, making it a very reassuring stay with kids. A quick chat about dining – what to avoid and what to recommend: The BHC fried chicken downstairs was just average and a bit overpriced, so I wouldn't recommend it. Definitely seek out Woonchi for authentic Jeju black pork; the meat is firm and tender, making for a fantastic BBQ experience. Also, try the long-standing Snail Noodle Soup; the broth is fresh and delicious, the snails are plentiful, and it's a dish that everyone, young and old, will enjoy.

Seogwipo is beautiful! Lotte is so comfortable! The whole hotel has a subtle, pleasant scent, which also extends to the rooms and bedding – not too sweet, just really soothing, absolutely amazing! From the hotel, you can walk down to the Jungmun beach via some steps, but we didn't go. Turn right out of the hotel and there's a 7-Eleven, then a few steps further up is Starbucks. Opposite Starbucks is the Teddy Bear Museum, and Olive Young is to the side. Walk a bit further, less than ten minutes, and you'll find a few BBQ restaurants. Of course, there are also a few eateries behind the 7-Eleven next to the hotel. Super convenient. The hotel is quite close to Jusangjeolli Cliff and Cheonjeyeon Waterfall by taxi. Breakfast was good, and the green apple pastry in picture 2 was the best thing ever!

Lotte Hotel is located in the heart of Seogwipo's resort area. From the moment we stepped out of the car, we were met with warm service and a relaxing, vacation vibe. Being a resort hotel, the rooms are incredibly spacious. We booked a family room this time, with one single and one double bed, and the single bed was even big enough for two people to sleep comfortably. One of the best things is that you can walk directly from the hotel to Jungmun Beach (though it's a 10-minute walk down some stairs). The hotel also has its own outdoor pool, which was great for the kids to splash around in. We could spend the whole day there, eating and drinking without ever leaving the pool. The changing rooms at the pool were also convenient for showering, and we even played there for a while after checking out. Right outside the hotel, there's a convenience store and a few restaurants. A 10-minute walk brings you to a McDonald's and more dining options. This whole area is a resort district with many hotels, so the roads and commercial areas are well-planned together, making for a pleasant and convenient environment. My only complaints were that we were only assigned a room on the 2nd floor (the front desk is on the 8th), and on our check-out day, they completely refused our request for a late check-out until 1 PM.

Right outside, there's a convenience store, Starbucks, Olive Young, and a shuttle bus to the airport. The pool has a slide that the kids absolutely loved. In the evenings, there's a pool party, and hotel guests even get a discount at the pool restaurant. A very satisfying hotel experience!
