Shangri-La Yangkuo Chinese Inn Homestay

On our family summer vacation trip, the guesthouse owner and their child enthusiastically helped us with our luggage upon our arrival. I suddenly felt unwell at that moment, experiencing some altitude sickness. The owner quickly had me sit down to rest, brewed some buckwheat tea for me, and offered me some high-altitude pears, explaining they were helpful for altitude sickness. The guesthouse itself is beautiful; I had never seen such thick, single-piece wooden pillars supporting the rooms before. The owner's daughter enthusiastically gave us a tour of the second-floor living room. Wow, it was even grander and more beautiful, showcasing a rich ******* architectural style. Our room featured a glass ceiling, which the landlady explained was designed to block rain and snow. For dinner, we ordered yak meat hotpot, and the landlady graciously treated us to some complimentary matsutake mushrooms. Breakfast was traditional ******* cuisine. The homemade yogurt, prepared by the landlady, tasted quite sour at first, but with a few more spoonfuls, its rich flavor truly stood out. The salty butter tea paired wonderfully with tsampa (roasted barley flour), and the crispy bread served with spicy radish pickles were all incredibly delicious. Throughout the meal, the landlady came by several times, urging us to ask for more anytime we needed it. She was truly very warm and hospitable. Personally, I feel this stay was more than just ordinary accommodation; it was an excellent gateway to understanding ******* culture.

This is a grand and authentic Tibetan-style residence. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well-kept. The owner's cooking was absolutely delicious. We were able to do our laundry here, which was a huge relief and really helped to shake off all the travel fatigue.

It was my first time trying ******* yogurt, butter tea, highland barley bread, and cheese. For dinner, we had yak hotpot, and the portions were incredibly generous – even the small size was enough for three people. The entire family was so warm and welcoming. The hostess's two children were also very industrious. They are a genuinely beautiful family, both inside and out. I wish them all happiness, joy, and peace.

Conveniently located right next to Pudacuo National Park, it's just about a 10-minute walk. This is a beautiful, family-run guesthouse. The owner is charming, and the younger hostess is incredibly capable. If you're visiting Pudacuo, you absolutely can't go wrong staying here!

Very close to Pudacuo National Park, easily reachable on foot (800 meters). This is a traditional Tibetan-style guesthouse, preserving many traditional cultural features. The rooms and bedding were spotless. They also offer hotpot featuring home-raised free-range chicken and yak meat, along with fresh mushrooms and matsutake personally foraged by the owner from the mountains. The complimentary breakfast is Tibetan-style, including yak butter tea, barley cakes, cheese, and yogurt. If you're not accustomed to the local flavors, the owner can also arrange congee and pickled vegetables.

This place is perfectly situated just a stone's throw from the scenic area entrance. The owner is incredibly welcoming and hospitable, and the rooms boast excellent soundproofing. Breakfast was delicious, with the butter tea and cheese being absolutely fantastic! The bedding was super comfortable too. It's clear the owner has put a lot of thought and care into everything.
