"I have so many things to say about this place. First of all, the host was truly amazing 🤙🏼💯👌🏻🤌🏻. Super kind, very friendly and really helpful. Every question I asked was answered right away. Even when I cancelled one night, he was still totally fine with it. He kept checking on me before check in, during the stay and even after I left 💕
The room was incredibly comfortable 🛏️✨. Like super comfy. The floor heating worked really well and everything was clean. The toilet had an auto bidet which honestly is the most important thing for Malaysians haha 🚿😉
The location was amazing. Only a two minute walk to a halal shop 🍽️. Just five minutes to the center of Dukezong Ancient City 🏯✨. There are also several halal restaurants nearby in the same row as KFC 🍗🌙

"I genuinely recommend Little Tusi Homestay. I'd say it meets four-star hotel standards. The owner personally picked us up at the station in the evening and even brewed us a delicious pot of butter tea upon arrival, along with some fruit and snacks. The Tibetan-style decor is very tasteful and refined. We stayed for three nights, and the owner upgraded our room. Today we're leaving, and the owner will even drop us off at the station. Shangri-La, the sun and moon in my heart – this trip was truly worth it!"

"We are a couple from Malaysia first time to China. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There is a complimentary transport to and from the railway station. Moreover there are heated floors, bidet in the toilet and extreme cleanliness. The view is to die for and this hotel is also located at the same compound as the famous Hei Dou cafe for which we got a free drink each and biscuits. During my stay we experienced snow and the animals were all friendly and tame. The animals also seemed very happy which made our interaction all the more better. We loved our stay so much thank you to the friendly staff and we hope to come back soon!"

"Facilities: Underfloor heating, a humidifier, and oxygen supply are all available; the facilities are very complete. Plus, there's a parking lot right at the entrance, which is super convenient.
Cleanliness: The room was spotless, and the bedding was pristine. We slept very comfortably.
Service: The lady at the front desk upgraded our room for free and even gave us some tips about high-altitude living. The service was excellent, five-star recommended!"

"The hotel is very centrally located on Zhengyi pedestrian street. The rooms are clean and spacious. The common lounge area has free flow coffee and flower tea. I also was able to ship all my taobao purchases to this hotel and received everything in good order when I arrived :) Staff can't speak English but they are helpful."

"Less than 10 minutes after booking, the front desk called to ask if I needed a pick-up, or if I preferred to just take a Didi. As soon as the car arrived, they were waiting at the entrance to greet me with a Hada, and check-in with facial recognition took less than 3 seconds. They even upgraded my room! Knowing I had an early morning flight tomorrow, they specially packed a breakfast for me. I give them a perfect 100!"

"This guesthouse is very close to Zongkela City. The room is incredibly spacious, featuring a bedroom, a living room, and a super large bathtub. The design is fantastic, and most importantly, the attention to detail is superb. The heating temperature was perfect, and the room felt fresh with plenty of oxygen. Having stayed at different guesthouses over the past few days, this one offers incredible value for money. If your budget isn't too tight, you absolutely must stay here. I forgot to take photos of the room, but what you see in the hotel's pictures is exactly what you get."

"We had a wonderful stay at this BanYe Manor. Breakfast was lovely, and the hotel’s location on top of the mountain offered a truly magnificent view of the Yila Grassland.. the kind that makes you pause and just breathe it in.😭😭🩵
The staff were warm, friendly, and very responsive on WeChat, helping us with recommendations and getting around. Getting a DIDI from the hotel was easy and fuss-free. The coffee was surprisingly great too.
What really made this stay unforgettable were the animals — goats roaming freely all day and the hotel’s three affectionate dogs who clearly loved hugs. It felt like a beautiful, peaceful farm stay and created memories we’ll keep for a long time.
Truly a fun and special stay. I already wish I could come back. The staff was so sweet too, before check out they knew we needed our morning coffee so they made coffee for us, but so sad we left before we could have some 😭😭"

"The room I booked is bigger than expected. They have heated flooring, nice for my cold feet from the cold late October weather after whole day outing. Staff helpful and friendly. Location is very good. Stayed on 3rd flr, room 8306, can actually see the Ancient Town Monastery and world biggest prayer wheel from my room. When the morning sun hits the mountains behind them it is a sight to behold."

"Staying in a log cabin on the Shangri-La grasslands was an incredible experience. We chose a hotel near Napa Lake, and it exceeded our expectations. The room offered the best views imaginable.
Through the bright floor-to-ceiling windows, we could see snow-capped mountains, a sparkling lake, and lush grasslands. There was no need to search for a special viewing spot; the windows in our room and the restaurant provided the perfect vantage point.
Here, you can truly slow down, watching the cattle, sheep, and horses, and the puppies playing in the fields. In the afternoon, we headed to a café on the grassland, lazily spending the entire afternoon there, waiting for the sunset."

This hotel gives a very fresh and new first impression. I found out from Quzhen （曲珍）that it only opened in July. The design of the entire hotel is excellent – very chill yet infused with local ethnic characteristics. It's not overly ******* like many guesthouses tend to be; the balance is just right, modern with an artistic feel. It's a place that literary and artistic youths would surely love, with many photo hot spots.
Quzhen (曲珍）was my butler for this trip. She is an incredibly enthusiastic girl, providing very attentive service. She was responsive to every request and exceptionally thoughtful. When I felt unwell one day, she immediately arranged for an oxygen tube for me and checked on me regularly. She makes you feel at home. The other staff members are also very warm and friendly.
The hotel's location is absolutely top-notch, right next to the Songzanlin Monastery. It takes less than two minutes to walk to the side door.
The large floor-to-ceiling window in the room allows you to literally fall asleep looking at the Songzanlin Monastery. It's a highly recommended hotel.
If I have the chance to come to Shangri-La again, I will definitely return here. Quzhen (曲珍）feels like a friend waiting for me to come back in Shangri-La. It combines the facilities of a design hotel with the warm service of a guesthouse.
I have a few minor suggestions for the hotel: Next time I return, it would be wonderful if there were a few sun-beds on the terrace at the left of the restaurant. Lying there, sunbathing, reading a book while gazing at the Songzanlin Monastery would be super chill. Also, I think the breakfast could offer some Western options, such as bread, fried eggs, sausages, sandwiches, yogurt, coffee & tea etc. Afternoon tea could also be a nice addition.
As for the room facilities, everything is very good. It has diffuse oxygen, a humidifier, and many books for reading. It would be perfect if some seating cushions could be added to the bench next to the window along with a small tea table and tea set.
In conclusion, the entire experience was excellent. Thank you to every staff member at the hotel, especially Quzhen(曲珍）. I hope to have the opportunity to see you again – my friend in Shangri-La.

This stay was truly captivating, and the owner's hospitality captivated me! My sister highly recommended this homestay in Dukezong Ancient Town. The owner, Zhuoma, proactively asked about our itinerary from the moment we booked. Upon arrival, she not only provided a detailed and practical guide to Shangri-La, but also shared tips on hidden gems and pitfalls to avoid. It was even more reliable than a handy guide.
The most heartwarming thing was that as soon as we dropped off our luggage, the owner brought us hot yak milk. It warmed me up and instantly dispelled my travel fatigue. The amenities were even more amazing. The entire home is equipped with smart home technology, allowing for voice control of lights and curtains, making it incredibly easy to use. The furniture is all brand new and high-quality, and it's clear the owner put a lot of thought into the renovations, making the stay both comfortable and technologically advanced.
The view from the window is incredibly thoughtful, and this homestay is simply divine!
The room I stayed in this time truly took full advantage of its ”view room” status. In the morning, as I pulled back the heavy blackout curtains, the view before me was breathtaking: directly across from me was the lush greenery of Guishan Park, and the large prayer wheel atop the mountaintop was so clear it seemed almost palpable. Especially in the evening, the setting sun cast a warm glow on the prayer wheel, and even the people circumambulating the park could be vaguely seen. I didn't have to squeeze into the crowds at the observation deck; I could quietly enjoy this unique view from my room. The photos I took and posted on WeChat Moments were met with inquiries about the address.
Even more touching was the thoughtful attention to detail at the B&B. Considering the local climate and altitude, an oxygen concentrator was pre-installed in the room. The owner came to teach me how to use it. When I occasionally felt a little hypoxic at night, I turned it on and immediately felt much better. Hanging in the closet was a thick, complimentary down jacket. The clean, simple design meant I didn't have to carry heavy clothing, and I wore it when I went out to visit the park or see the prayer wheels, offering both windproof and warmth. This thoughtful consideration of the guests' needs was even more heartwarming than the scenery itself. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting! When we checked out, the owner even prepared a Vajra knot, a local ******* gift, for my girlfriend and me. It was a thoughtful gesture, and it was truly heartwarming. The entire experience was not only comfortable, but also felt like visiting a friend's home. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

The hotel is spectacularly perched on the side of the Jinsha River Grand Canyon, halfway up the mountain, with a sheer cliff face on one side and the deep canyon on the other. When booking, I honestly didn't pay much attention to the exact location. I simply looked for a hotel near Tiger Leaping Gorge, as we planned to visit it the next day. But as we navigated there in the afternoon, driving up the mountainside, even my husband, a very experienced driver, started to get nervous. The road was incredibly steep – perhaps a 40-50 degree incline? – and what made it truly terrifying was that on one side was the sheer drop into the Jinsha River Grand Canyon, with the powerful river rushing below. It was an extreme test of nerve. I was so scared I couldn't utter a word, my mind racing with thoughts of unfinished business.
When we finally reached the hotel, perched precariously on the mountain, we met other guests who confessed they were too scared to drive back down and needed the hotel owner to take them. Despite the adventurous journey to get there, the hotel's scenery is absolutely unparalleled. It truly embodies the saying, 'the most spectacular views are found in the most treacherous peaks.'
This hotel has deep roots in the ancient Tea Horse Road. It's situated in a pivotal location along the Tea Horse Road, attracting many international trekkers and hikers. The owner himself is an avid hiking enthusiast. It was such an unforgettable experience that my husband said he wants to make a special trip back.
Next time, with this experience under our belts, we'd definitely park our car at the foot of the mountain and have the hotel pick us up. Alternatively, you could arrange for the hotel to drive your car up for you. Of course, if you're an adventure-seeker, you might enjoy the challenge! Haha.

CCatherine1201I really can't recommend this guesthouse enough; it was probably my favorite accommodation of the trip. The environment is fantastic, both indoors and outdoors, and the rooms themselves are wonderful. The views from the room are absolutely stunning. It has a projector screen, smart curtains, a bathtub, a foot bath, floor heating, and bed heating – basically, every amenity is top-notch. What I loved most was the outdoor area with a huge lawn, perfect for photos and just relaxing. There are also dogs, cats, rabbits, and sheep at the guesthouse. The natural lighting in the guesthouse is excellent. The owner, the young staff member, and the auntie were all incredibly friendly, warm, and polite. They even helped us carry our luggage to the room and thoroughly explained all the room's features. The breakfast was delicious, and the guesthouse also offers other food options that are equally tasty! Plus, there are outfits you can try on for photos. I had a really comfortable stay and would absolutely recommend it to everyone!

CcloudsinfebruaryOur stay here made our first visit to Shangri-La truly memorable! As the weather is really cold, the room (equipped with heated floor, humidifier, and a very comfy bed!) kept our bodies warm. In the morning, you get to wake up to an amazing view of nature.
The little furry families made up of a mother cat and her adorable 3 kittens, plus a cute young Westie 酥油, brought so much delight to our stay. The team is lean but extremely hospitable, welcoming, and kind. She always made sure we had piping hot food, and her bubbliness brightened our mornings. The ingredients used were of good quality, as with everything else in our room.
As we didn’t manage to hail Didi during this period, the owner/host, a local, drove us to the different places of interest we wanted to visit (at a fair rate!). He was resourceful in helping us get the best deals and avoid tourist traps. As a local, he was knowledgeable about Shangri-La and the Zangzu culture, and shared many interesting facts. He’s also a singer and humorous, so the car rides were enjoyable.
The place was beyond expectations! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful home-away-from-home retreat, the warmth of the place really kept our body and soul warm!

They picked us up from the train station, and the room was huge, with underfloor heating and a smart toilet – everything you could ask for. We were in a rush in the morning and couldn't stay for breakfast, but the owner even chased after us to pack some food and snacks for the road. Seriously, their ginger tea is a must-try! I was starting to feel a cold coming on, and two cups of that completely sorted me out.

The soundproofing was also excellent, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful night's sleep.
