The Azure - M'Pai Bay Reviews

A fabulous guest house on chill M'Pai Bay. The room was clean, had excellent air-conditioning, gorgeous bedding and lots of space. It is basic but exactly what I was looking for at the right price. Room is freshened up when requested and new towels are given when asked. It was a 5-10 minute walk from the pier and a bit hard to find at first because there is no signage. Luckily, I had a Sim card and was able to contact them when I arrived and Jay came right out to greet me. They sent me Google Map link which helped me get to the right location. You can snorkel from (almost) their door step, since it's only a few steps away from the West side of the island. The island is full of cool little restaurants owned by locals and cool groovy expats. If you are looking for a chill, rustic, authentic Cambodian island experience away from all the tourist traps, I highly recommend spending a few nights at Azure M'Pai Bay.

We stayed 2 nights. The communication before and on arrival was great. Laura, who was waiting for us at the pier, was friendly, helpfull and gave a good explanation on the way to the place. The place had everything what we needed and was like the pictures showed.

We enjoyed our stay here so much we extended by an extra night. Lovely community here and comfortable room with excellent amenities. We are already dreaming of our return in future! I have included some pictures of the surrounding area

Cozy, rustic, staff helpful. if you are looking for perfect and sterile place, maybe look elsewhere, maybe even on another island :)

Jay and Dave are amazing hosts! Really enjoyed our stay. The aircon is a huge plus on the island. Will defo be back!

The room was not clean and there was no soundproofing at all

It's very good to have air conditioning But except for checking in and out and seeing the staff, you can't find anyone for any service you want. I saw the cleaning lady with my own eyes. It took five minutes to finish. One hand held the child and the other held the mop. When changing the sheets, she put the child on the bed. My friend and I sprayed insect repellent ourselves, and we each dealt with three cockroaches🪳. Another friend had a palm-sized spider under his bed🕷️ and the used condoms were not cleaned up. The shower gel and shampoo can't be squeezed out. It's better to bring your own. The advantage is that the location is very good, there is air conditioning and fan, hot water is comfortable, and there is a beach towel

Price-performance ratio is acceptable. Nothing spectacular, suitable as accommodation for an overnight stay as a starting point for exploring the islands or beaches. Cleanliness is always a matter of perspective. Bathroom and bed are clean, I sometimes look under the bed, at the fan and the ceilings, you could occasionally wave or wipe through them. The accommodation is 500 m from the pier/city beach, in a quiet side location with a pleasant neighborhood. Air conditioning 👍🏼 WiFi 👎 Fridge 👎 Relaxation zone 👎 The Khmer restaurant opposite is really great and recommendable. The French restaurant "Flambee" across the street is a bit more expensive, but something special for pizza lovers. Laura is nice and helpful, she manages the accommodations on behalf of the owners.

Central, quiet accommodation, situated a little up in the village from the beach. Rooms are basic but clean, with air conditioning and fans. Close to restaurants and bars. Staff very friendly and helpful, with great advice on things to do.

Great place, clean rooms very comfortable beds, very welcoming staff and a hang out for the locals. Jay took us on a boat trip around the island where we had a BBQ and went snorkeling 🤿 had an amazing stay here highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at The Azure. Room was a good size and good quality bed with aircon. Private bathroom with shower next to toilet (typical Vietnamese). Jay was friendly but as the Christmas period didn't really see or interact, we hit the end of a storm so wind was high and unable to do any trips which was a shame, it is quite a small area of the island to explore if trips aren't going. A lovely little island, a large expat community so a lot of western food. Beautiful sunsets and free water refills at the azure.
