Skiathos Palace Hotel

Wow - only been here a day & can hands down say this is an exceptional hotel! The service is excellent and the hotel is spotless. Great spacious room and spectacular views. We had a walk over to the Martha beach which was steps away from the hotel & such a quiet lovely spot. Can’t wait for the rest of the week special thank you to the girls on reception and Sophia for the warm welcome and the concierge team for helping us with our bags wearing a smile

The hotel is situated on one of the hill tops with spectacular views, some of the best I have seen. The service and facilities are great and perfect for what we wanted. It was clean and the staff were very helpful. The only issue was the breakfast buffet. There was plenty of variety, very tasty but unfortunately it was always cold. They didn’t have under heaters for the food trays, there were only heat lamps. The surrounding area was a little tired but I believe this is due to storm they experienced in September 2023. I would go back and visit again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was I think a standard but lovely side views over the tree tops to the sea. The hotel was beautifully clean and our room was made up each day. Terrace was really lovely the views fabulous. Breakfast was everything you can think you’d want for breakfast! There are some strange different levels which were no problem for us though if you had impaired mobility it may be problematic. The bus from outside ran really frequently so in the evening we would walk down to one of the restaurants and hop on the bus back. We had some lovely meals. Koukounaries has obviously had a few set backs with some buildings there now empty. At first I thought Skiathos was a bit overdeveloped but we soon realised that the majority of the island is sand roads and forest, all sorts of beaches you might like. A different beach every day with some lovely tavernas. Such a great holiday a beautiful location and a big thank you to all the staff at Skiathos Palace who really make the place wonderful.

Fabulous stay at the Skiathos Palace Hotel, excellent rooms, food and cleanliness, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, would definitely return.

Second time at this hotel and unusually for these days I thought it had improved. The staff were really good and friendly. The cleanliness was always top class and constantly been attended to. Unfortunately the hotel is over six floors with no lifts. They do ask people to inform them of any mobility issues but as the pool and reception are on different levels it could be challenging. We had no issues but others may have. The pool area is really nice. Great bar serving food and drink and no issues getting a sun bed. The view from the pool deck and bar is absolutely stunning. The trade off for the excellent views is the beach is down a steep hill and very tricky steps. There is a curtesy bus to and from a beach however which is free from the hotel. The beach is one of the best on the island and was the main reason we returned to this hotel. There are some bars and restaurants within walking distance but it’s quite a way and up hill on the way back. It’s a struggle if not impossible to get a taxi for short trips around the hotel as they are all based in Skiathos town. There is a local bus that runs from the beach passed the hotel to Skiathos town. It’s two euros each way and runs about every 30 minutes. Great for visiting town and runs up to midnight. If later it’s about 18 euros in a taxi which takes about 15 minutes. The hotel runs a free bus to town but need to book in advance as it gets busy. We had a few meals in the hotel. Breakfast was usual buffet fare and was ok. Three evening meals in the buffet restaurant were all very good. As we like to eat at different venues we didn’t eat much in the hotel but we had no complaints with any meal we had there. There is a restaurant above the bar that costs extra and requires booking but we didn’t use it on this visit. Rooms were nice and cleaned daily with fresh towels if required. We paid a bit extra for a sea view which was nice but spent more time at the bar than sat on the balcony. I think there is a range of rooms so not sure if they are all the same but ours were good and never heard any complaints from other guests. Fresh pool towels available every day from the small hotel shop. Some good walks in the local pine woods if you get bored on the beach. Skiathos is a stunning island and this hotel is great. Hope I haven’t put anyone off as I just wanted to post an honest review.

nice clean place to stay and staff really friendly. just returned from a week long trip and celebrated my birthday whilst here was made to feel very welcome from the start when we first met Sophia, she welcomed us to the place and immediately made us feel relaxed she spoke to us everytime we saw her and gave recommendations when asked for she deserves a raise she was fantastic. we had a room with view over Koukounaires beach which was great, everything worked as it should and had the sun on the balcony from late afternoon through the evening. Had kettle in the room and hairdryer. Reception desk very helpful in booking taxis etc when wanting to venture out of the hotel. free shuttle runs from the beach every 15 minutes so the hill and steps are not that much of a problem. also there is a free shuttle service that will take you into the main town that runs at certain times which you can book at reception. overall had a great stay and came home feeling relaxed and recharged. pool area was good and when we first arrived the hotel was not majorly busy so getting sunbeds wasnt a problem, as the week went on the hotel filled up and at times couldnt get a sunbed unless you got early however we found that going to the beach to sunbathe was just as nice as you had more of a breaze from the sea. Food was also great, we had breakfast included which was nice, also ordered from the bar cafe and was pleasantly suprised at how nice the food was. we paid 30euros PP to eat at the BBQ on saturday in the evening and wow it was worth it they had so much on offer and food was good perfectly. also ate in the white view grill restaurant which again the food was bang on.

We stayed at the Skiathos Palace Hotel for 7 nights half board after visiting the island previously at another hotel on a half board basis. The hotel itself is beautiful, the views from the pool area are gorgeous, everywhere is spotlessly clean and the garden areas are very well maintained. It's great that the hotel offers shuttle buses to the two beaches nearby and Skiathos town. However, the one thing we were very disappointed with was the standard of the evening food, breakfast was good and had everything one could expect. We ate in the buffet restaurant 2/7 nights and opted to eat out 5 nights. The choice was very limited and did not look appealing at all for the money you pay for this standard of hotel. Also, the staff in the restaurant were not the friendliest in our experience. If we were to return to this hotel we would definitely opt for the bed and breakfast option as there are so many options to eat out on the island. Skiathos is a beautiful island which I would highly recommend to anyone!
