Had a fantastic week, the 3 brothers couldn’t do enough for you, so friendly and welcoming. Yes the rooms are basic but had everything we needed for a self catering holiday. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. (typically Greek as you would expect for 2 star accommodation ) You only had to ask if you needed anything else. Our 1st holiday in Skiathos, it’s a beautiful island with beautiful people. We met some lovely people who return year after year and we can see why. Will definitely be back next year.

For what it is, these apartments are very expensive and overpriced by Jet2. I’ve stayed on other Greek Islands in similar accommodation for virtually half what Jet2 are charging to stay here. Having arrived in the dark and given a map at the airport as to how to find the apartments it was a challenge having been dropped off on the main road to find my way down a partially lit track. It would have been nice if either the Jet2 Rep or someone from the apartments would meet the late flight on the main road and walk them down the track. I guess during the day its OK but at night it’s a bit daunting. Got a welcome drink on arrival from the Barman which was lovely. The room was OK of sorts but very dated, in fact the whole place was in a bit of a “1960’s time warp” and could do with a bit of TLC. The fridge was rusty, some of the cutlery was rusty, the door was a poor fit and the small shower was open on one side so you had to be careful not to flood the place. There was a hefty charge to either use the room safe or the rusty air-conditioning. Room was at the back and didn’t get any sun, but at least there wasn’t any noise from the bar in the evenings. Its apparently run by 3 brothers, and they do try hard to please. It was a bit unprofessional for the barman to sometimes have a blazing row with one of the other brothers in full view of the guests, and it was a bit off putting to have a cat living in a cardboard box on the bar and what was worse was being fed on the rear where the drinks were kept. The cat would wander over the top of the bar and sometimes knock over glasses. Very odd and unhygienic. The glasses were sometimes not cleaned very well. The bottled beer is quite cheap here, but spirits were about normal. If the Jet2 cost were more reasonable I probably wouldn’t have been so critical. Many of the guests appeared to know the owners well having returned several times, so they must be doing something right. The Island and people are lovely, and transport is cheap and reliable too. There’s a couple of bars in the resort with the Agustera being the stand out one, although more expensive than the bar here. This is 1 or 2 star Greek basic. At the current Jet2 cost I don’t think I’d return. If it were more reasonably priced-its possible that I would.

Amazing place to stay. This was my third time. Beautiful walk through the woods down a little picturesque track to arrive at villa Amalia app. Warm and friendly greeting. Free drink on arrival, while we waited for our luggage to arrive. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Maid service every day. Pool are is gorgeous and very clean. If we needed anything we just had to ask. They honestly could not do enough for us. Such a lovely family. Would highly recommend. I can't wait to go back.

I love this place. Have been there 3 times now and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Skiathos. The staff are wonderful and apartments are clean and comfortable. If you need anything, staff bend over backwards for you. Beautiful walk through the woods brings you to Amalia, about 5 minutes from drop off point. 10 minute walk to beautiful koukounaries beach. Close to bus stop 23 so easy to get around. Lovely pool area, so peaceful and serene. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. All in all a wonderful place to relax .

Had our 12th visit to Amalia in the summer and took 2 friends who were desperate to go after keeping hearing us going on how enjoyable our holidays there where. Needless to say they also fell in love with the place and had booked for next year before us!!! We will also be returning as you can’t beat it , it’s basic but very clean and remember it’s Greek self catering not a Spanish 4 star B@B. It’s family run and we class all the family as good friends , they are always pleased to see us and are very welcoming. The setting is in the forest and very tranquil, you can be on Koukounaries beach in 10 minutes depending on your walking speed 15 at most. Nearest shop is 5-10 minute stroll and same for nearest tavernas. George has cheapest Mythos on the island so make sure you keep your fluids up there!! We can’t wait for next July to see and catch up with many friend’s we’ve met there who all return year after year as well as catch up with George Photis,Demitri, Mama and Papa who have all become good friends. Yamas!

We have stayed at the family owned and run Amalia many times and returned again in Sept. As usual we were given a warm welcome on arrival by the three brothers who run the complex and were offered a complimentary welcome drink at the bar before being shown to our accommodation . Although basic, the apartment we stayed in was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including an oven and fridge that looked new. The friendly maids visited daily and the beds, which were very comfortable, were changed most days. Bins were emptied and towels changed everyday. The surrounding gardens are beautiful, with many trees providing shade and there is a lovely pool with ample sunbeds which have recently been upgraded and are very comfortable. The pool bar is open all day and into the evening and sells the cheapest drinks on the island. We particularly like the location of the Amalia apartments as they are a short walk down a track through a beautiful pine forest, so very quiet and relaxing. Koukounaries beach and the supermarkets and restaurants are less than 10 minutes walk away and there are many more beaches within easy walking distance, or a short trip on the local bus which runs every 15 mins.

These are lovely apartments set back from the main road in the middle of a pine forest so you don’t get noise from the main road, yet it’s only a 10 or 15 minutes stroll to the main beach in Koukounaries. If you want to go further afield there is a lovely walk through the pine forest to the beaches at Mandraki, and the bus stop is only a 5 minute stroll away too if you want to explore the rest of the Island or go into Town. I’ve seen a report complaining about the music there, however I feel that is a little harsh. There is quite music from the bar area during some of the day, whilst it does go up a few decibels in the evening. It’s always turned down again late in the evening so as not to disturb people. If it does disturb you, you can always request a room at the back of the property. The housekeeping girls do a good job changing the sheets and cleaning the apartments. The beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows and even a blanket for any end of season bookings. There is a supermarket about 5 minutes stroll away which sells just about everything you could want-and if carrying a 6 pack of water back is too heavy, the hotel next door sells a 6 pack for €4 Euro. I have always found the 3 brothers who look after the apartments to be very helpful, and if there’s anything you are not happy with, tell them, and they will quickly remedy it. The bar has SKY TV and shows most of the sport, whilst the beer is the cheapest on the Island. It’s the sort of place that you can either just relax by the pool if that’s what you want to do, or otherwise “let your hair down”. If you are expecting 5* accommodation these are not for you, but if you want basic Greek 2* accommodation in friendly surroundings you can’t go far wrong. I feel that most people will appreciate the effort that the 3 brothers do to help their guests have an enjoyable time. The apartments might not be 5*, but the welcome and experience certainly is. I would certainly return there. And its a 5* from me*

Do Not Stay Here ! Terrible accommodation,Very long walk to beach, more than 10mins as advertised by Jet2. €70 week for very old Aircon unit which is ridiculous. Stayed for a week given clean sheets but apt not cleaned. Had to buy our own breakfast bowls as only plates. Shower door fell off and we had to fix. Toilet bin not emptied every day and didn’t close properly. Towels were like tiny rags. Shutters didn’t close so full view into apt from the bar so couldn’t put light on at night without everyone seeing in. Beds really uncomfortable. Just vile all round.Glasses not clean from bar, and their cat is fed on bar top . Music blaring all day and through the night which was too much. No peace & quiet more like a Benidorm bar which was definitely not what we were looking for. No courtesy water given on arrival in fridge as most accommodation do and long walk to carry water to and from supermarket. Save you money, go somewhere else in my opinion.
