This place was a real let down. Having booked due to reviews on trip advisor I’m afraid the views don’t make for a 5 star rating. The place is really run down. Tarpaulins covering the main hut have been there for a long while. The pool is tiny and you cannot swim at the beach by the hotel. The rooms are very tired albeit clean. The staff especially Vanessa are super nice and so so helpful. There was no internet and hardly any phone reception. Apparently this was a Santa Catalina wide issue. Did not eat at the place so can’t comment on food. To be honest for the price it’s not worth it. It’s a shame as this place has so much potential. As mentioned staff are the redeeming feature of this place.

Santa Catalina is a cozy village with very good food and wonderful surroundings. We had the ground floor villa/apartment in Vista Coiba. This was pretty outdated and humid. We had some bugs because of cracks in the walls. We heard the neighbors upstairs, but for me that was not a problem. The shower was excellent: spacious, an unlimited amount of hot water and very high pressure. The beds were good and of a good size. We even had an extra bed in the living room as we requested. Breakfast was simple (eggs or pancakes and some sliced fruit) but good. All staff was extremely friendly. Especially Israel, he was very helpful with figuring out how and where to pay our traffic fine, which is pretty complicated in Panama (you have to go to an office which is 2 hours driving from Santa Catalina).

Bed bug! Run away. We were devoured. We found traces of bed bugs on the mattress. This hotel has nothing to do with the photos and the standard it thinks it has. The hotel canceled our reservation on booking so I could not comment.

Trip mainly to visit Coiba Island, which is a World Heritage Site. The hotel has a beautiful view, it is cozy, the food is delicious, the staff is extremely friendly. Impeccable cleanliness. The sunsets are spectacularly beautiful. This was my second time at Hotel Vista Coiba and we will be returning for the whale watching in August.

Simple hotel with excellent location in Santa Catalina. Beautiful View of the Pacific. Modest breakfast and very modest lunch and dinner options. There were works going on at the hotel during our stay... which were not announced in advance... Generator in the hotel is excellent during the frequent power outages

We visited this place just before the pandemic in March 2020. We returned this year 2022 and the service has worsened. The place still has one of the best sunsets. It is delicious to eat. Cleanliness has gotten worse. They are a little slow in service.
