Hotel Villa Maria

The only negative experience we had was being charged for pool towel use and not being told prior that it would cost.

Being a hotel manager myself, the hotel is not up to a 4 star level. Starting from the positives,the hotel is on a great central location, very close to the beach,the marinas, all restaurants-shops & train bus stations. The reception team was lovely & the receptionist who checked us in (Terry) was very nice & provided us with the info needed (breakfast times, wifi code etc). The reception lobby was nice. The room was a double standard but very noisy as it was facing the street,the balcony was a Juliette balcony so you cannot use it to sit etc, the shower was the tiny & old,the minibar did not work at all (was not cooling) & when reported to the reception they did not offer to look at it.no iron or ironing board in the room, when we asked for it, we were told to pick it up from the reception and the iron had limescale on it so it was not usable (could stain our clothes. The cleaninless of the room was fair, however I could see that the floor was not hoovered or mopped during our stay. The breakfast was nice and had some traditional items, the service was good but many items were finished by 9:30 and were not replenished as the breakfast was ending at 10am. This is not right, the breakfast buffet must have enough offering until closing time. Also it is served indoors so for those who want a breakfast view, it’s not ideal. The pool was small but clean. The hotel amenities, service, offering & status of rooms reflect to a 3 star hotel and the price per night (€200 approx) is quite high for this type of hotel.

Great hotel location for walking into town, excellent food /breakfast so much choice, I especially loved the dolce and fresh fruit . My brother and I ate at the pool bar twice tasty food and drinks, very relaxed lovely staff who recommended a beautiful light rose wine with our fish, plus I got to try my Delizie al Limone, infact I over did it on those, they were my favourite. My room was beautiful and clean every thing worked lots of towels, comfortable bed and I especially loved my tiled floor and wooden slanted roof. I loved my little view from my porthole window, infact I often sat before I went out looking at the boats sailing to Capri. The hotel has a great pool and seating area around the pool but I also loved the hot tub on the terrace... I mean where can you sit and see an amazing view of Vesuvio whilst enjoying a relaxing hot tub. The hotel has a lovely cool large lounge seating area on the ground floor where you can order drinks from the small bar... My Camparis were excellent as expected in Italia, I also got to try pizza and espresso in Naples, amazing, it had to be done. There were so many places to eat and all the meals we had were excellent but our favourite place was La Fenice restaurant which was two mins walk from the hotel, great place, however the dining room at the hotel looked excellent to. I can only thank all the staff at the Hotel Villa Maria they are outstanding. Sorrento is an explosion of colour taste and smells... I would love to return and definitely stay again at the Villa Maria... Grazia mille ❤️

This hotel is in an excellent location very close to the centre of Sorrento and the hotel is a immaculate and the staff from the dining room all the way to the reception are very helpful and highly recommend this hotel to anybody in fact the staff couldn't do enough for you my wife also got coeliac disease And catered for her at breakfast time with a fresh omelette and gluten-free rolls and cakes if required

We love ❤️ everything about this hotel. It's location,cleanliness and ambience. The reception staff are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast staff are exceptional they look after everyone so well. They are all so friendly and everthing was delicious. The most amazing staff member is Anna from house keeping . She is such a beautiful staff member . Our room was cleaned to the highest standard everyday. She was always so so helpful. Her big beautiful friendly smile made our holiday. We can't wait to return Than you all

A very well located boutique hotel in Sorrento within easy walking distance of all restaurants, bars and other amenities. Our room was very comfortable, we had half board and I have to say the evening meals were exceptional. Staff were very friendly and we were able to do all sightseeing trips from here very easily.

We had a great 10 days here. Room and hotel are very clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Apart from a small slope to the entrance it is ideally located at the end of the shopping area so walking everywhere was no problem for us. Train/bus station are approx 15 mins away. The food was well cooked and tasty and we never struggled to find something on each nights menu to eat. Pool is heated and there were plentiful sun beds always when we were there. Would definitely stay again. Thanks everyone for a great holiday.

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel in a good location. The food is good - we certainly didn't go hungry (even though I'm vegetarian and quite picky!). What really makes it excellent are the wonderful staff who looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble and we were warmly greeted at reception, in the restaurant and at the bar.
