The best thing about this place are the owners. Full of initiative and kindness, I am very appreciative of their initiative services. For example, they asked if I already had transportation for my next destination, then how much I was quoted. Then they said that was a fair price if it was right to the hotel, to just check and verify if it is so. This is a very helpful guidance for out-of-towners. The room is clean, and after 4 days of travel in the area, it is the only one that doesn't have any lingering smells of cigarette smoke. It is hard to find rooms like these, including rooms that claim to be smoke-free. The view from the room is great and it is nice to watch the birds fly over the border river. Birds are not constrained by fences. Bottles of water are provided, as are disposable towels, which I'm not a fan of, as well as soap, shampoo and so on. There is no separation of wet/dry areas, but slippers are provided. You may not get the best photos in such a homestay, but it is functional and practical, and everything works well, drainage and so on, which is more important. I would stay here again and I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Shanyao Xiaozhu Guesthouse may sound unassuming, but stepping into the rooms is a pleasant surprise. First, the cleanliness is impeccable; the beds and rooms are spotless, comparable to a five-star hotel. Second, the service is excellent. The owner is very welcoming and responsive to any questions. When we couldn't find Yushui Dam while driving there, he kindly suggested we call him – a truly kind gesture. The guesthouse is conveniently located near the scenic area entrance, easy to find, and very quiet at night. It even has an elevator, which is rare for a guesthouse. The rooms are particularly noteworthy – each one is large and spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the scenic area. I couldn't resist taking several photos. The curtains are automatic, the toilet is a smart toilet, and the bedding is excellent. There's also a table, two chairs, and high-quality toiletries, a hairdryer, and slippers. Having traveled extensively and stayed in various hotels of all levels and star ratings, I feel that Shanyao Xiaozhu Guesthouse offers a five-star experience at an economy price. All 14 of us in our group were extremely satisfied.

The room is clean and the bed is very big. It is no problem for two people to sleep. Although the bathroom is simple, the bath water is stable. There is bottled water in the corridor on each floor. We have been playing in Mingshi for several days and have eaten in many restaurants without any problems. We had dinner in this restaurant on the 15th and went to Chongzuo on the 16th. We planned to visit Taiping Ancient City on the day of Chongzuo and go to Yangshuo the next day. As a result, we started to have diarrhea the next morning after dinner. When we arrived at the Chongzuo Hotel, both of us had **** phenomenon, felt cold all over, and were exhausted. We could only buy anti-inflammatory and anti-diarrhea ***** online. The stay was exceptional! We booked two rooms, both of them were with a great view and spotlessly clean. The rooms were on the last (6th) floor and we had also an access to a beautiful terrace where we could relax and enjoy a stunning view. Most of all we liked the host who was very helpful and kind, he helped us to book a transfer to Chongzuo (260 CIY) and met all our requirements. The breakfast was a typical Chinese one: delicious noodles, eggs, vegetables, steamed rolls. Just a kind of advice is to add more seating facilities, sometimes it's crowded during breakfast. Hey Shanghainese folks, listen up! It's only a few hundred meters from the actual main entrance, but for lazy people, it might be a bit of a trek. You can drive there, and parking is 30 RMB. The guesthouse itself is really great – clean and relatively quiet! It's the tallest and largest guesthouse around, standing out from the ones on either side, so the views are unobstructed. During the National Day holiday, things were busy, but the landlady kept her cool and was super responsive to everything, which I really appreciated. Honestly, after looking around this trip, the service here was better than other so-called high-end guesthouses. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. There's parking right outside. I didn't have the landlady buy the 80 RMB tickets for me because she couldn't get them until 8:30 AM, and the scenic area opens at 7:30 AM. I bought my 110 RMB ticket online directly and was the first one through the gates on National Day. By 9 AM, when I was done and leaving, the peak crowds were just arriving. Then I went back to the guesthouse, took a shower, had some noodles, and relaxed watching a Vietnamese drama – pretty sweet!

Pros - excellent views of the river and boats passing by - convenient location next to the ticket office of the scenic area - filling breakfast - helpful owner who also let us charge our EV for free and was ready to help with our luggage - homestay has its own restaurant Cons - the room cleanliness could be much better. There were dirty marks all over the bathroom floor, windows and TV - poor sound insulation (you can hear your neighbours) - the village is currently undergoing a lot of construction work - it's clear that the homestay can't change it, however, it would be great if guests could be warned about it in advance. The area is quite dusty Overall, taking into consideration hygiene and the state of the area around (construction sites), the price was a bit too high for the stay. The views of the nature are unbeatable thought.

Stay here! You can stay at the park gate. Drive up to it at night. Sleep here. He’ll go get your tickets in the morning for you and then you can be in the park at 8:30. You’ll arrive right as the people who have to bus in arrive but if you’re not in a group you can get ahead of everyone and enjoy the park and be on your way around noon

This is an absolutely fantastic guesthouse! The environment is very clean, and the facilities are quite complete, more than enough for my solo travel needs. A cleaning lady comes up every day to clean, and the owner and other staff are all very welcoming. The food at the restaurant downstairs is also delicious. I stayed for three nights and had a very comfortable experience. 🥺
