AAcedesHaving stayed in so many B&Bs, this one really stood out. The location of the homestay is excellent, and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking. You can see the beautiful scenery of mountains and water just by opening the window. The room facilities are complete, and the use of smart home makes life more convenient. Moreover, the public area of the homestay is decorated in great style. It is very pleasant to drink tea and chat with the owner here while waiting for midnight snack. Next time I come to Wuyi Mountain, this will definitely be my first choice!

GGuest UserSure, here's a positive hotel review for such a place: --- My stay at the hotel overlooking the majestic mountains was nothing short of breathtaking. The room was beautifully appointed with a sunken soak bathtub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. It was spotlessly clean and incredibly spacious, offering ample room to relax and enjoy the stunning views from the windows. The highlight of my experience was the delightful local cuisine served at the hotel's restaurant. Each meal was a culinary journey through the region's flavors, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was its exceptional staff. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable experience. Their knowledge of the area and genuine hospitality made me feel right at home. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty, delicious food, and outstanding service. It's a hidden gem that exceeded all my expectations.

AAnonymous UserWuyishan Guanlan Shuyuan truly understands travelers! The smart toilet and deep soaking tub in the rooms are incredibly thoughtful, and the facilities are excellent. There's a tea set with complimentary Wuyi rock tea, and the King Koil mattress helps you shed all your fatigue. The Song-style courtyard in the common area creates a fairy-tale mist, and the free Hanfu for photoshoots turns out amazing pictures – the butler, Xiaoxiong, is great at taking photos. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, with a beautiful restaurant, tea room, mahjong/chess room, and a gym. It's very convenient to rent a car upon arrival in Wuyishan and self-drive to explore the area. The hotel is also very close to the scenic area, conveniently located in the Sangu Resort. They offer free parking with complimentary EV charging, and the butler even helps with swiping the card to activate it – so thoughtful! This is a stay you won't forget!

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, very close to scenic spots, and shopping is incredibly convenient nearby. It has its own parking lot, making it great for those traveling by car. The front desk lady was very warm, attentive, and helpful, answering all my questions and even upgrading my room for free. The room was very spacious, clean, and odorless, and the air conditioning was quiet, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. The breakfast was also rich and satisfying! I'll definitely choose Baina Hotel again if I come back to Wuyishan.

HHongsieThe staff Xiao An, Xiao Han & A Shen were very welcoming & attentive. Served us hot tea as soon as we arrived at the counter. Helped us with our travel plans & even extended a complimentary breakfast for us before we left for the train station. Atour boss please reward them! Room was spacious & balcony was a delight. GGuest UserThe location is excellent, right within the Wuyi Mountains scenic area, about a 10-minute walk from Wuyi Palace, making it convenient to get everywhere. The hotel's overall environment is beautiful, and it has all the amenities you could need, including a washing machine, dryer, and vending machine. They even provide laundry detergent in the bathroom, which is a very thoughtful touch. Plus, the staff here are very friendly and accommodating; when I asked for water, they generously gave me two bottles.

SShuangmushuiThis was my first time visiting Wuyi Mountains, and I stayed at the Wuyishan Shuizhuang Holiday Hotel for two nights. Miss Cao at the front desk was incredibly friendly and even upgraded our room. The room was spacious, bright, and clean, making our family stay very comfortable. The hotel's surroundings are beautiful, and the breakfast spread was excellent. The bathroom facilities were complete; it would have been absolutely perfect if the shower pressure was a bit stronger. Overall, the stay was fantastic!

AAnaP92The general manager gave us a very warm welcome in excellent English and upgraded our room size to have a more comfortable stay. The restaurant manager, Wang Fang, was also exceptionally welcoming. She helped us with getting everything that we needed and took great care of us during our meals. The cook prepared excellent fresh noodles and suggested what ingredients we should try. The people that are working in this hotel were the highlight of our stay. Thank you for the great experience.

SSeng Cheong DuiThe hotel location is well placed and closed to Wuyishan. Self-serve washing machines with detergent provided was very helpful in keeping my luggage weight to the minimum. Proximity to the various food outlets (walking distance) is a strong plus.
