I've never left a bad review on Trip.com before, but this time I just had to complain because it was truly awful. For over 1000 yuan a night, the room was tiny – I know most Japanese hotels are small, but at least they're usually clean. This one, however, was not. The carpet was stained everywhere, the shower curtain was broken, the coffee table looked like it had been waterlogged and the surface was bubbling. Outside the window was a brick wall less than 50 centimeters away, and the window was drafty, making a sharp whistling sound all night long. Is Trip.com really unable to find suitable partner hotels anymore?

Great location and excellent value! Hotel Livemax Ueno Ekimae is a perfect choice if you want convenience. It’s just a short walk from Ueno Station, making travel around Tokyo super easy. The room is small but very clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything you need — even a microwave. Bed is comfortable, Wi-Fi is stable, and the area has tons of restaurants and shops nearby. Overall, a great stay for the price. Highly recommended for travelers who want good value and a top-notch location!
