As members of a 22-strong Anglo-Thai Society Regional Group, my wife and myself are nearing the end of an overnight stay at the Muong Thanh Lai Chau Hotel. It is a relatively large building with a separate restaurant in the grounds and - also as we discovered but didn’t use - a swimming pool and tennis court. Rooms are relatively large with a decent-sized bed and - be warned - the water in the bathroom is very hot. We had breakfast and dinner in the Puta Leng Restaurant with the latter a Chinese set banquet and the former buffet style. Good choice of food but some basics (cold coffee, no bananas etc) could be improved upon. All in all, a comfortable overnight stat at what is probably the best hotel in town!

Good location, beautiful scenery. Professional and friendly staff. Clean and hygienic restaurant, fresh and delicious food. Receptionist guides guests to their seats (Mrs. Thu). Room service is polite, well-arranged. Room lacks desk lamp!
