Despite the restaurant being a third full, we were regaled with several forgotten drink orders, a missing soup spoon, the server returning twice to tell us that ordered dishes were no longer available, and very mixed quality of food. Luckily we tried the house white wine before ordering as it was thin, acidic and nasty. The prices are very high considering the quality, which was at best adequate.

The hotel is ok and very well located in front of the sea. We had dinner in the Waterfront restaurant which inside the hotel. Unfortunately I had a beef burger which was more than well done. After complaining I got the feedback that they have to cook it that way by law. So I suggested to take it off the menu. Btw. I had a lot of burgers in Scottland and none of them tasted that bad. Besides that all the meals were looking extremely loveless. The dining room is more like a railway station even you can look to the sea. At the end the price for that was too high. If you want the opppsite with great food and dining room so try to get to the Bettyhill Hotel.

Promised so much but delivered poorly. Smart room, adequate bathroom, all very clean. But....kept awake until nearly 12pm by excessively loud live music from the bar below. No lift and no offer to help carry large luggage upstairs (another guest helped in the end). Beautiful view from room but also overlooked by other rooms. Balconies are not private and merely separated by a rope, so no privacy. We booked a breakfast included deal but on arrival were told we didn't include it and this was an extra £15 a head. No menus in room. Dinner in Waterfront Restaurant was OK but nothing special and I don't know what "service" the 10% service charge was for, other than carrying 2 plates to and from our table. Burger was rubbery but pudding was fantastic. A warm can of coke as a mixer was £3 on top of my £7 vodka - dissapointed as we had hoped for something a little special but this place is just run of the mill and expensive.

Chose hotel due to proximity to the Isle of Lewis Ferry, about 1klm. We had room 4 which was supposed to have a bay view but you had to really squint to see water. You would be better in room 1 or 2 for bay views. Staff were very obliging and always happy to assist you. The Brekky and dinner were very good but you need to book in for dinner. Overall it was a good stay with plenty of free parking. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night when doing our scotland tour. Check in was good. Our room was adequate and comfortable. Evening meal was very good and breakfast first class. The hotel is in a wonderful location with great views. We sat outside having a few drinks overlooking the sea. Large cruise ship was opposite in the morning. Would return.

Rather than risk an early morning dash to Ullapool for the ferry, we decided to book a B&B for the previous night, only real requirement was it had to be dog friendly. We booked the "bothy" at bungalow 500, and what a gem it is. You have a private entrance with access to the garden, exclusive use of a sauna and baking/breakfast delivered to your room, which has a small dining table for you to sit and eat at. The food was simply excellent, something the hosts should be rightly proud of, we realised that we had scoffed the jam and cream scones down so quickly we completely failed to get a photo of how good they looked, and they tasted perfect! The breakfast was also fabulous, even the dog got offered a sausage! The bed was comfortable, tea and coffee facilities were available. Would I stay there again? Absolutely, I don't see how anywhere else could match the hospitality shown here. Book with confidence, this place is really good!

Really friendly owners who made us very welcome. Really comfortable bedroom and sitting room and we had an excellent breakfast. We had a dog with us so we stayed in the Bothy room. Would thoroughly recommend

What a find 🥰 a warm welcome, beautiful view and everything you could need provided with efficient and professional service. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of Ullapool allowing easy exploring around the highlands and local area. A fantastic breakfast aswell, accommodating my sons fussy requirements without any hassle. Well done team Royal, and thankyou!

We stayed in September whilst touring from Skye to Lochinver. Good sized hotel with eye-catching ‘streamlined’ design. Close to centre of town – easy walk along waterfront. Good sized room and comfortable bed. Large well-stocked bar and light, spacious dining room with large picture windows. Food good though not exceptional. Staff we met trying hard to please.
