Upon check-in I was told I had a room in the “annex.” It turns out it was just an entrance on the side of the building - no big deal! The room was immaculately clean and perfectly fine for what I needed. The gentleman who checked me in took me to the room, explained about the plethora of keys needed to enter the different doors, and showed me how to use the air con.
The room has few amenities and was small, but slightly better than I expected, to be honest. There were slippers and a nice shower.
The location was great - very short walk everywhere. I actually tried to extend my stay but the hotel was sold out for the next 2 days. I would definitely stay again.

The location is good, very close to the square, but the bathroom is small and the house is old. There is no view outside the window, only the wall of the opposite house.

Stayed at Hotel San Gialo in Venice for three days in early November. As many tourists left comments praising the hotel, it is clean, tidy, antique, and has free self-brewed coffee. Although Ms. Huang is Italian, she was able to communicate with me fluently in Chinese, which really made me overjoyed! Ms. Huang was patient and enthusiastic. She used colored pens on the map to carefully tell me how to get to the airport, how to get to the waterway, how to get to the bus, how much the fare was, how long it took, how to buy tickets for the water bus, and how to take the water bus.
