The hotel is a good hotel with a living room, bed and mattress with very comfortable couchs, large and spacious bathroom, and a tent used in the bathroom instead of a glass wall/box that would be more presentable.
Improved breakfast, little choice and variety...and lack of electric toast and bread to make a toast.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. The entrance is the pier. It takes two or three minutes to walk to the bus stop, ten minutes to the train station, and free breakfast is provided. Unfortunately, the room did not have air conditioning, which caused us to open the window. As soon as the window was opened, there were many mosquitoes flying in.

The location is 8 minutes from the station, but it is a bit difficult to travel with large luggage because you have to walk across the Constitution Bridge. Other than that, the room is quite large, and it is no problem to put 2 28-inch large luggage and a 20-inch luggage. There is also space to walk, not as small as the previous review said. The key point is that the restaurant has a water purifier, and you can drink unlimited water freely. The experience is very good, close to the water bus ship

It's right in front of Santa Lucia Station, so you don't have to take a water bus or walk long with your suitcase. The room was in good condition overall, friendly staff, breakfast and beds were good. If you visit Venice again, you will make a reservation here without hesitation.

The Canal & Walter is extremely old. I understand that…BUT…updates have not been made in YEARS AND YEARS.
The young staff at the front desk are great. The gentleman running breakfast couldn’t be better.
ROOM 102
The bathroom has black mold - there is a window in the shower with a curtain rod BUT NO CURTAIN. So the window is rotting and moldy. The shower head is broken. The bathroom has a floor drain but when new tile was installed MANY YEARS AGO the drain was not raised so it is an extremely bad trip hazard. There are NO towel rods. There are no safety handles in the slick tub/shower. Entering the bathroom there is a 3-4” step - another trip hazard.
The furnishings, from the 1960’s, in this room are totaling worn out. There is only one luggage rack so the only option is to use one of the two chairs or the small desk. This is very inconvenient.
When scanning the room for items we might have missed in packing, we found garbage under the bed.
The breakfast is sufficient.
I would give one star out if 5, at best.
The smell of bug spray was so overwhelming that it seemed toxic. The air conditioning unit did not work so unknowingly we opening the windows for some fresh air only to wake up with dozens or more mosquito bites. We stayed 3 nights. The 2nd night we closed the windows and relied on the air conditioning unit. After a long night of restless hot sleep, we left for the day only to return to find the UNIT WAS TURNED OFF by the staff.

The alley not far from the train station is on the left. The navigation is not accurate. There is no elevator. The bathroom is small. The room has a refrigerator. The whole is still very clean. The grandma at the front desk is very enthusiastic.

The hotel is in front of the Santa Lucía station, the area is at the entrance. Check-in and check-out were done with another hotel 15m away. Breakfast (if you choose that option, it is also with another hotel called “Walter” which is 20m away)
The hotel is old, so all the facilities are somewhat “strange”. In the room there is only the bed, a closet, and a faucet for washing. If you want to relieve yourself, you have to leave the room and go to the “toilettes” that are shared with the rest of the guests as well as the only shower there is.
The hotel description does not specify those details.

If you stay on the main island, I recommend this hotel. No need to drag your suitcase across the bridge, it's only a 3-minute walk from the train station. The room is also quite large. For a family of 4, I was given a large bed and two single beds. If you don't have time to eat breakfast, they will make a note in advance to take it away for you, which is quite considerate

A hotel with a good location, close to a bus stop and a train station, which is important for Venice, since moving with suitcases across bridges is not very convenient, there are only water taxis, good large rooms, comfortable bed, the room was clean, only there was a noisy air conditioner, breakfast was simple excellent, about 25 minutes to San Marco Square, there are many good inexpensive restaurants nearby.

Highly recommended, I think this hotel should not have only three stars!
All the staff, especially the front desk, are very enthusiastic, and the location is excellent. Because it is close to the train station, it is even more lively than St. Mark's Square. A hotel opened in 1879, formerly a monastery, the decoration reveals the atmosphere of history everywhere, which meets all my fantasies of European historical buildings.
The room is also very clean and has a fresh smell, unlike the old hotels in Shanghai that have a musty smell.
The buffet breakfast has a wide variety, and the hot chocolate and coffee are super delicious.
You may have to drag your luggage a long way to other hotels, or take a 10 euro boat ticket to get there, but this hotel only takes a few minutes to walk after getting off the bus.
If you come to Venice, please don't miss it.
