Location 8/10: close to the JR station where the buses are as well. close to a convenient store where you can buy all your necessities. for those who wants to take a taxi, there's one station nearby. Restaurants are a little too far, the closest sento is a little too far. Staff 8/10: mostly self services, teas and water and other stuff near the check in counter. they have staff to clean your beds for your, if you wish (open or close the door to your bed in the morning). facilities 5/5: Shower, sinks, and toilets are very clean. They provide the towels for every night you stay there.

It is a good spot for a solo traveler. Capsules are clean. Towels are provided. There is a small tea and coffee area at the entrance. They also have Chinese-standard plug in the capsule which was handy. Also, I likes the smell of wood. The worst part is that if you come before check-in, nobody is in there, meaning you will have to stroll around and wait for 16:00.

This is a nice hostel near Wakayama Station. It feels different from the typical first-class hotels most tourists stay in; it's more homey and cozy. However, the capsule rooms have bunk beds, so the soundproofing might be a little lacking. The showers are separate wet and dry areas, which is convenient for Chinese people. The only downside is that they only provide hairdryers; toothbrushes and slippers seem to be unavailable. Also, I highly recommend the Katto ramen near Wakayama Station—it's absolutely delicious!

It's fine for one person. The soundproofing isn't very good, so you need to be considerate. There are almost no amenities, so bring your own.
