An adequate place to sleep when you are exploring the Poughkeepsie/Hyde Park area.

We were there two nights. 4 adults and 1 child in a suite. The room was not prepared with enough towels, etc for us to shower. Then there was no hot water the first night, apparently a boiler issue. We were told it was fixed. The next morning the shower was warm at best. The second night the shower was hot. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan. So shower steam and odor from toilet usage couldn't be evacuated from the one bathroom 5 people were sharing. One person in our party slipped on the wet floor, there was a towel in place, luckily they were not seriously injured.
When discussing any of our concerns w/the manager upon checking out she offered us rewards points. She never apologized and acted as though it all comes with the territory. Some of the staff was nice, but honestly, no one said hello unless I did first. I greet the hospitality people and try to be friendly. Working for her I can see why they are the way the are.
I DO NOT recommend this location for people to stay.

I did not like that the first room had no heater, they changed the room and it smelled like cigarettes. Then they gave me another room where the fire alarm went off at 1 AM, my wife and I could not sleep, they yet again changed the room, I still could not sleep, the front desk reception is not friendly.

Check in was super easy. Got a text when I got to my room asking if everything was fine. Breakfast is excellent. Super convenient location to Vassar, CIA, SUNY New Paltz and I-84. Price was great with a lot of value. Pool and hot tub!

Friendly service at check in. Breakfast was good. Room was semi clean. There were Cheerios on the floor and dirt in the tub uppn arrival. Not even close to enough towels provided. Only 2 bath towels, 1 face cloth and 1 hand towel for a room of 5 people. Needed an extra sheet to make the bed on the pull out sofa. Went to front desk and was told ok, will send up a sheet in and hour. This was at 9:30 pm. Nothing by 11:30, so called down to ask were it was and was told they dont have any clean ones. A hotel with 4 floors if rooms does not have one clean sheet to provide for a bed available to sleep on in the room. Ok.

I was playing a show in Poughkeepsie and the Hamilton Inn was a great place to stay. Clean, friendly great breakfast and everything is right in the area within a few miles. Definitely stay there again.
