RUDE CHECK-IN RUINED THE WHOLE STAY After much effort of trying to park my car nearby (abs nightmare given the traffic, no parking at the white hart inn and limited parking in the village) I arrived to the white hart inn at 2.49 a full 11 mins before the actual check in of 15:00. I was greeted by the woman in charge snapping, "3 O CLOCK", without a glance in my direction. Abs lovely!!!! Who would ever be polite and say hello, how you are,... On daring to ask where I could park. There was a dismissive, "OVER THERE TURN LEFT bla bla bla"...again without  a glance in my direction. After it reached the 15:00 magical time the woman then barked, "WHAT'S YOUR NAME", at which point the next bark was "U NEED TO PAY £X's", but on pointing out I had prepaid she checked the system and stopped demanding money. I was then thrusted my keys and told "YOUR ROOM IS UPSTAIRS". As I did not know where the stairs were I thought better of asking again and went hunting. Whilst attempting to find my room I came across some other guests also hunting for their roo, so was pleased to know I was not alone in the game of 'give us a clue' when being given room keys. Whilst the room was basic and fairly clean, the walls were paper thin (I could hear the person next door talking word for word and when they plugged anything into their electrical socket it sounded like they were in my room) and it had zero view (just the pitch of a roof to stare at), I cannot get over how shockingly RUDE the check in woman was and would suggest if you would like to be treated with a degree of respect and politeness and be able to park your car nearby (somewhere less than 5 mins away), this place is defintely not for you..

We had a Travelzoo voucher for £99 which included bed, breakfast, afternoon tea (scone & cuppa) and a 3 course evening meal. The pub is beautiful and very historic. We were happy with our room, we never expect much from a standard room but it had a lovely big bed and felt spacious. Paint was missing off a wall which was a pity and spoiled the look of the room. Apart from that the food was fab, the staff very friendly and Winchcombe is a beautiful town. For the price 10/10

Thank you so much for everyone at the White Hart who made the Christmas Day lunch a very special occasion. This was the first time we had eaten out on Christmas Day and it was just what the family needed after a difficult few months. The food was excellent and service was great. Thanks to Harriet for help with booking and sorting gluten and dairy free options for member of the party.

We chose The White Hart because we hadn’t heard of Winchcombe before. We arrived to discover that this was their Xmas Street Market weekend, what a treat it was. Terrible weather didn’t stop the stalls being out and displaying mostly artisan goods. The White Hart was buzzing and packed by evening shoppers stopping for drinks and food. Our room (5) overlooked the High Street which was illuminated by Xmas trees on nearly all premises. The food was varied and very good, the bar had three different ales along with lagers and other draught drinks. Despite the inclement weather the hotel was warm and cosy.

Comfortable hotel on the high street. The food was excellent. Good selection of excellent food for the evening meal. Choice of local ales. Breakfast also a very good selection of food. Choice of fruit & cereals etc plus excellent cooked food. I would thoroughly recommend this place. Staff were polite, cheerful & helpful. Why did I give it only 4 stars you may ask! It is an old coaching Inn. Our room was very comfortable with good quality facilities but not quite 5 star. The food however was most certainly 5 star.

I flew in from San Francisco to celebrate my mother’s 82nd birthday and booked brunch at the White Hart as a surprise before we left to Edinburgh to visit my son. About an hour before the event we received an email from tue White Hart stating that the chef had called in sick but that we were welcome to join them for lunch at noon - only an hour after our booking. We could not do this since we had a train to catch. Seems that with little effort the staff could either have accommodated us - since someone was obviously in the kitchen to make lunches - or given us enough notice to make alternative plans. We’ll never know if the chef had a few too many pints or if they couldn’t be bothered to serve breakfast, but it was a pretty poor showing and very disappointing. Needless to say we won’t be going back.

Very disappointing offering - 3 finger sandwiches which were ok but nothing special. 3 tiny 'cakes' per person each no bigger than a 10 pence coin. Only one scone each, but as they were such a peculiar texture, springy and doughy rather than light and crumbly, this wasn't such a bad thing. Only redeeming feature was the generous portion of cream.

We called in for coffee and a bacon sandwich. The coffee was quite good and the bacon was freshly cooked. However, the bread was the cheapest, thinest possible, it looked like it as if with a razor blade. £7.95 for the sandwich, would have been acceptable if the bread had been of quality.
