I arrived quite late and the check in process was fast. Check out is also easy.

Ideally situated in this delightful period town, ample car parking space , with clean and functional rooms.I elected to eat in the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised at the standard of food ( Lasagna) delicious. Staff very pleasant and efficient, will come again.

Check-in was easy, and we were welcomed, that much I can not fault. Later on, we were there at 5.30pm to book a meal and found that we were waiting for roughly 10 minutes so that they could sort out a financial issue with an unhappy customer. I am pleased to say we were slightly acknowledged, but nothing was done to improve the situation. Meanwhile, people were lining up behind us, watching the same drama unfold. I see the place needs much better management than it is receiving. Considering there are over 100 rooms in this place. It's scary to think what could happen if they had a full house. The complaint from one that we overheard was basically, in my opinion, fair Cause for concern. For starters, there were ants in the customers' room, and they were also in ours. Another complaint we heard was that there was no hot water, which we also found out later on, so we had no hot water, and we had ants in the room. We were also quite relieved that the weather was quite mild. Therefore, the swimming pool that was completely out of service and looks like it has been that way for a very long time would have been a waste of time. We were both gobsmacked about the management side. Where there was nobody on the premises. Who could authorise a refund at the time? Which meant the customers who we were waiting behind. We're going to get no further than they already had. And they would probably have to wait till the next business day, which was several days. Why before they could be paid. It would have made more sense to have taken the customer aside and got their details and explained everything that need to be explained. Meanwhile, still being able to serve customers who had been waiting patiently. And to top it off, you could only order your meal at one counter and your drinks at another one. I would stay here again but only if I knew they had made some significant changes to improve the experience.

Stayed here on one of the hottest days on record in Perth (Feb 9th) Aircon in the room was so icy cool though and the beds were comfortable! The meal we had at the restaurant was delicious and so filling! There was some local live music on too. York is such an underrated little spot not far from Perth and Settler's House is great comfort and value for money if you want to stay right in town.

This is country town accommodation. It is clean and comfortable and a good standard. York is a beautiful Western Australian historic town, neat, tidy, a safe environment with very friendly people, about 100km from Perth. Very relaxed.

The room was dirty with one window covered in cobwebs including the bath tub complete with a daddy long legs. The carpet was very badly stained. I rang and spoke to a female and advised the state of the room and requested a refund as we had found alternate accommodation for the night. Female stated that the room had not been used for a while and as I had not given her the chance to offer us another room then she would not be refunding the money. The whole motel looked rundown, pool empty and dried up garden beds. Very disappointing for such a beautiful town

The rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped, located in a convenient part of town. Reasonably priced. The rooms weren't huge and appeared bigurw in the pictures. Staff were friendly and was nice to listen to live music in the beer garden over dinner.

This place is a joke, and is letting the town down. This was a complimentary stay offered to us after our awful first time. Upon our arrival, Jenny was in the middle of dealing with another guest’s problem in that they couldn’t get into their room, literally- the lock was broken. So they were moved to another, without the spa bath they had booked- needless to say they were not impressed. At 39 degrees outside, we were keen to get the air con going. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to be working. My partner had a look and noticed the filters were filthy so removed and cleaned. Air con worked after this. In the bar, we were told the wine we ordered had gone up from the price in the menu- seems they’ didn’t have time to change the prices.’ We suggested that we will be paying the advertised price. Finally, when ready for sleep, we pulled the rug back to find blood stains on it. Ahh!!! Never again, sorry.

Our stay at Settlers house was disappointing. The location is perfect right in the centre of town with privet parking. Shame our room was infested with ants, I understand ants are hard to control but vacuuming the carpets would be a good place to start. Our bed didn’t have a head board, which made me Very uncomfortable knowing the level of bugs in the room. I woke up groggy, needing a coffee I open the cupboard looking for the mugs and to my horror I see the ants have claimed the mugs and spoons, not the best start to my day, I have a shower, unable to remove shower head or lower shower head I have to wash my hair. Shame I couldn’t dry it though, no hair dryer provided which I thought was rather unfair untill my husband tried to get a shower and no more than a trickle came out, standing there in the nude in absolute despair how a paying customer cannot even enjoy the facilities they have paid for he tries the taps, no nothing not even a trickle in the tap. Did they shut the water off? Was the water pressure low ? Not a soul in sight to ask. Luckily the kettle had water in it from the previous guests so he tripped that into the sink and had a flannel wash. We left, annoyed shocked and cold from wet hair and a shivering flannel wash. Settlers house is a beautiful historic building with a lovely pub in the centre of it all, unfortunately the lack of care in the rooms for guests let me down.

Spent a night here as a midway point of a two day motorcycle trip around the outskirts of Perth. Pretty happy to be honest, it’s a great location within easy walking distance to the main drag of York and ample parking. Room was a good size, nice and clean and well appointed with everything that you need with a kettle, toaster, microwave etc. Nice comfy bed too 👍🏼

Went for the Medieval festival today took the family for a meal thought the Settlers House would be good, how wrong were we as with it being so busy they just weren’t able to cope we waited for nearly an hour before our food was even cooked, asked for a refund but was politely told it’s already getting cooked, kept being asked for our table number and we had to keep saying there is no number and the waitress came out to see what table and realised there is no number after the 3rd time. Sorry but we won’t be coming back. Very incompetent.

This place could be really good. Our room was clean and good value for money but the welcome, check in and directions to the room was less so. Shame as it is a really good spot and could be so much more.

While not staying at Settlers House myself, I had made a booking for elderly relatives. I cannot thank Stacey and her staff enough for the trouble they went to, in assisting me with multiple date changes and ensuring the right room was selected for my aging relatives. Special mention must be made of Kylie and Callum, for going above and beyond to help me and my family out. Thank you all very much.
