There are supermarkets, restaurants, and community hospitals around the intersection at the foot of the mountain. All necessities of life are available. The room is very spacious, the beds are clean, the facilities are complete, and the heating and cooling are powerful. If it’s not cold, you can sit around the courtyard drinking tea and watching the mountains and the moon. If the weather is cold, guests can burn charcoal in the living room to keep warm and have a long chat with the boss and his wife. The host will also help guests plan a route to visit the forest park, which is very considerate. The food cooked by the host is very authentic. After tasting their homemade (smoked) bacon, you will definitely miss this Hunan flavor in the future. We have experienced no snow to light snow to flying snow here. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the south gate of Huangshizhai Scenic Area, a few thousand steps. There are many restaurants on the road, so just buy them in a group and you won’t get ripped off. To go up the mountain from Huangshizhai, you have to either take the ropeway or hike along the Golden Whip Stream, which is quite a physical challenge. But monkeys can be seen everywhere, more than at Tianzi Mountain. The bus back to the city is on your own and will stop as soon as you wave it, 12 yuan.
