The hotel boasts an excellent location, directly across from Kyoto Station. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and efficient with our check-in, and they even offered us a complimentary room upgrade. For Japanese standards, the room was quite spacious and immaculately clean. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and the large restaurant provided a very comfortable dining environment. We stayed for three nights and had a fantastic experience overall. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

It is a hotel with a very good location and very good service from the receptionist. The condition of the hotel is excellent, no complaints. The room is large, the bathroom is clean, the toilet is separated from the shower, there is a small part of the room where the maid works to clean every day. There is an onsen, a fitness room and a restaurant. I recommend it. If you come to stay in Kyoto, you must come to this hotel only. It is really good.

Firstly, the location is superb. Kyoto Station is just a 10-minute walk away, and there are abundant dining options, convenience stores, Yodobashi Camera, and Don Quijote all within easy walking distance. Priced around 500, this established 5-star hotel offers rooms that are quite spacious by Japanese standards, providing incredible value for money. Free parking and EV charging stations are also available. They also have Chinese-speaking staff. The only minor imperfection was finding a hair on the bed, suggesting they could pay closer attention to detail in their cleaning.

We stayed for three nights, and the hotel's service was incredibly attentive. Before our arrival, we contacted the hotel to help receive our luggage. We simply provided the hotel's name and address to a friendly front desk staff member, scanned a QR code to fill in some information, and she enthusiastically assisted with the communication and confirmation, ensuring our luggage would arrive smoothly. This service was incredibly reassuring and hassle-free. The hotel is conveniently located at the Hachijo West Exit. If you're arriving by the Haruka Limited Express train, you'll need to go up to the second floor after exiting the station and look for the 'Hachijo West Exit' sign. From there, look up and slightly to your right across the street, and you'll spot the hotel's English sign. Simply head downstairs and cross the road, and you'll arrive very quickly. It's actually incredibly convenient. Just a heads-up, though: for popular attractions like Kinkaku-ji Temple and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, you'll need to catch the bus from the stop located near the Kyoto Tower exit. We weren't familiar with the area at first and spent quite a bit of time circling the hotel looking for a bus stop.

The location is perfect if you plan to visit a lot of different sites in the city. Easy to find, inside it’s super quiet. The rooms are petite but the bathroom is large and comfortable. The amenities in the room are amazing. They provide even a pyjama. At the check-in you’ll receive a voucher to enjoy free drinks at the lounge. The staff is friendly, very polite, very efficient. We plan to visit Kyoto again and we will definitely book again here.

Very pleasant stay, good value of money, spacious room, various choices of breakfast, perfect location with supermarket, restaurants just across the street and like 15-20 mins walk only to Main Street shopping area. Amazing experience. Some traditional japanese vibes mixed with westernized traits. It was our first time visiting a hotel with any resemblance to a traditional japanese hotel - this was a great entry point into this kind of experience. As is traditional, you are required to leave your shoes in the footlockers by the entrance. You walk around the hotel in socks / barefoot. In some spaces wooden shoes are provided (example: public toilet on the first floor, toilet in the hotel room), everywhere else is socks-only. The design is very traditionally looking, pleasing to the eyes. Breakfast offers a combination of japanese and western dishes in a buffet style - so if you want to try some traditional japanese food, but are afraid you won’t like it - you will still have plenty of options (I will add a photo as an example - in reality the list of options is much bigger both in both japanese and western cuisines). Onsen is great, works a long time (3pm-10am). We went there in the morning / day / evening — all times it was not too crowded, sometimes there were only a couple other people in there. The onsen are separate for men and women, so there is no need to check against any timetable (men hours / women hours, how some other hotels do it) - you can go any time when onsen is open. Location is great too — multiple subway stations are close, Kyoto Tower is in about 10 minutes of walking. Many restaurants nearby.

This hotel is in a great location. I traveled from Osaka to Kyoto, and this hotel was literally across the street from Kyoto Station, the primary transportation hub for buses and trains. The hotel itself is very nice for the price. The room had every amenity needed and was quite comfortable. The hotel also has its own bathhouse with sauna, which is fantastic. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of dishes, and was reasonably priced.

It's great and hygiene hotel to stay. Booked 2 single bed and 1 sofa bed, sofa bed bit too soft and not even at middle for adult to sleep. As for location, opposite the hotel there's 24 hour mart available. But, to visitor spots, it's bit far for walking distance, so calling cab might be good option. It's good to take train, just might need to have few transit. For hotel facilities, there's water dispensary machine, washing machine, dryer, microwave available on certain floor, which is great for keep us hydrated on our day trip to Kyoto hot spot and clothes wash/dry for next destination. Overall, it's good hotel to have short stay.

Loved the hotel, service and Kyoto! This is a clean, well-located hotel with great breakfast and free amenities that one needs when on holiday. The front desk staff are very helpful with questions and to organise delivery of luggage if needed. Malls, station and restaurants in walking distance. We even walked to Fushimi Inari, Gion, Nishiki Market and another one near by, although it might be a long walk for some people. Do visit the other side of the station (part of the station) where the Kyoto Tower is, for a pleasant flight of lighted stairs that takes you up for views. A very clean city! The Aeon Mall has great food in the supermarket and food court. VA from NZ

FFaniaKVery polite and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was ok and they offered both japanese and continental options. The standard rooms on the 2nd floor had no view as there was a large wall in front of the window so i would definitely not recommend this option. The premium rooms are on higher floors and offer better view, if that is what you are going after. Overall it was a comfortable and clean place to stay for a few nights

AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. PPUAY PUAYGreat Location & Spacious Room, but Cleaning Policy Could Be Improved The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the train station, plenty of eateries, and lots of different convenience stores around. The room size is quite spacious by Japan standards, which comes with Microwave and washing machine and dryer in the room, which made the stay comfortable. However, the housekeeping policy could be improved. Full room cleaning is only provided after a 6-night stay, which seems a bit too long. During my 5-night stay, only towels were changed and bins cleared as per my request. It would have felt cleaner with more regular housekeeping.

ККрыловаТатьянаVery convenient location of the hotel, close to Kyoto train station, bus stop. The rooms are comfortable, there is a small wardrobe, a shelf by the bed, a small table. Next to the bed is a USB socket for charging a smartphone. Cleaning, clean towels and a set of home clothes (sweatshirt and trousers) every day. Excellent breakfasts, a large selection of delicious Japanese and European dishes.

LLyndaThis is not a hotel of three stars. It is a HOSTEL.  I stayed here after I extended my stay by a night in Kyoto and everything was full - at least those with  reasonable prices.  It was a single room with shared bathroom. It was a mixed floor with separate toilets for men and women. The showers were only on the 2nd floor.  Hotel/sleeping wear was available for free but I changed the first top as it smelt unwashed. I made my own bed after taking the little table off the raised dias and sliding it under the bed so you need to be active!. There is a mirror with a small ledge under it.  No rubbish bin as you are asked to take it out of the room to the communal bins on the  floor.  The whole place is fairly new and very clean, and location is great.  There are a couple of vending and laundry machines  along with large canisters of hot water and a microwave.  Breakfast is two doors down in the cafe which was ok. It is run by Sotetsu chain but should be classed as a hostel not hotel. You can leave luggage early before checkin or after checkout for a few hours. The staff at reception were helpful but it certainly isn’t a hotel. Most hostel’s have a place to prepare your own food not just a microwave. Not value for money IMHO.

MMel.amEnjoyed the racing of laundry machines daily while I was there, there are always many people waiting to use it. Anyway, generally a very cosy hotel. The rooms are not big, but not as small as Tokyo’s same price point. Breakfast menu doesn’t change, except for their Kyoto dessert of the day. Maybe they do change their menu, but at least not that I know of, I was there for a total of 5 days P.s: There’s a clam ramen stall just beside the hotel that’s always queueing. Pls don’t queue, it’s really not fantastic. If the queue is less than 5 people, that means it will probable be 30-40mins, you can give it a try. Otherwise, don’t bother. It’s not worth it.

SSvetlanaA huge and comfortable room. Everything is clean and fancy. But it seems like far from Japanese experience. Rooftop bar is awful: very slow service, the food is untasty and very expensive dor such bad experience. Also we left more tips as we supposed to do. I would say it was the worse place to have dinner in Kyoto. We did not like breakfast with the eggs part. You have to order eggs and than you can additionally choose some food additionally as a buffet. Eggs were with a lot of sauce and mayonnaise. It was strange. I would recommend to stay here without breakfast and do not try to spend time on the rooftop.
