Rumah Hutan or Forest Sanctuary is usually fully booked on weekends but we were so lucky that day to snag the last available room. Its a tiny 30 square metre house built right on the riverbank, surrounded by a lush garden, with its cozy balcony ideal for sitting and enjoying the sound of the flowing water. On the first day, it was overcast and the water turned really muddy. But the next day, when the weather cleared up, the water became so crystal clear that we spent hours swimming, playing and soaking in the river, the cold water so refreshing that we didn’t want to leave. #grouptravel This cafe is just located 5 minutes away from my house by driving and even since its launch around 2 years ago, it has became a good place for us and the local young people to visit to as this is the only cafe that is available in a small village here yet it offers a nice farm-themed environment overlooking the vege farm, scrumptious foods and a wide selection of coffee drinks + cakes. As a plus point, you can buy the organic vegetables here directly OR if you plan to have a 2 days 1 nights trip in the village, they do rent the accommodation as well next to the cafe!! Air Terjun Sungai Lepoh is an easily accessible hiking, waterfall and picnic site located in Selangor State Park, just ten minutes’ drive from the popular Hutan Lipur Sungai Congkak and Gunung Nuang Recreational Forest as well as thirty minutes’ drive from the equally famous Gabai Waterfalls. The area the waterfalls are in is surrounded by homestays, adventure companies and mostly simple nature resorts, all easily spotted during the hour-long drive it takes to get there from Kuala Lumpur city center. A long street filled with shop houses and more adventure outfits leads to the starting point of a 1.5 hour hike that takes you inside the beautiful forest where the waterfalls are situated. Clearly-marked signs are in place throughout the easy to moderate trail, which contains a steep section that may slow down even the fittest of hikers. Lepoh Waterfalls are particularly known for its natural ‘slide’, which is a large, flat and extremely smooth rock formation that visitors often use to glide into a small lagoon near the bottom. We spent a night at Sekeping Serendah Retreat during our local trip and it was amazing! "Escape to a glass house in the forest for a night—it's so relaxing!" 🌲✨ This time, we opted for a local trip and visited Sekeping Serendah Retreat, staying in the incredibly unique Glass Box 1. I was initially quite apprehensive due to some negative online reviews, but after experiencing it, I was completely blown away! 💯 🌿 Special Features • The house is entirely glass, letting in sunlight in the morning and letting you sleep to the sounds of the forest at night—a completely different experience. • The bathroom 🚿 is completely open-plan, with no curtains! 😳 It seemed strange at first, but it's actually quite romantic and perfect for couples—definitely a "just for two" space. • Glass Box 1, which we chose, offers more privacy than Glass Box 2. Surrounded by trees, we weren't afraid of being seen from outside. The terrace in Glass Box 2 was too visible, making it a bit uncomfortable. 🔥 Practical Tips • The room doesn't have air conditioning, only fans. It's cool at night, but a bit warm during the day. • There's no mirror and not much space, so it's helpful to bring some small things. • The internet is weak, so you can't surf the internet, but you can use WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, making it a nice little getaway. • There are a lot of mosquitoes and ants, so be sure to bring mosquito repellent! Otherwise, you'll be bitten to the point of doubting your life. 🤣 • The hotel provides barbecue utensils and charcoal, so just bring your own ingredients. We had a barbecue on the terrace that evening. The cool air, delicious food, and time together was truly enjoyable. ❤️ 📌 Overall Experience If you're looking for the comforts of a five-star hotel, this might not be the place for you.
