Wat Pho: Unlock the Temple of Buddhist Art

Built in 1793 during the Ayutthaya Kingdom, Wat Pho is the oldest, largest, and most temple in Bangkok, with the most Buddha statues and stupas. It is home to the richest collection of Buddhist art in Thailand. The most famous is the Reclining Buddha in the main hall, which is covered in gold leaf and lies on its side with its right hand supporting its head, representing the Buddha's pursuit of nirvana. It is said that the 1986 version of Journey to the West was filmed at Wat Pho. Wat Pho is the birthplace of Thai massage. 🧩Photo tips Wat Pho is divided into the main hall area and the stupa area, with nearly 100 large and small stupas covered in colorful tiles and gold leaf.
