Black House Museum

Visiting the Black House Museum (Baan Dam Museum) in Chiang Rai completely overturned my perception of traditional Thai architecture. Created by Thailand's national treasure artist Thawan Duchanee, the entire complex feels like a fusion of art and soul. The black main building is solemn and mysterious, showcasing a large collection of animal bones, leather, wood carvings, and religious symbols. The unique atmosphere is thought-provoking, evoking a sense of awe and fascination, as if stepping into the inner world of an artist. Though slightly eerie, it is highly inspiring and offers an alternative cultural experience that should not be missed.
