Seeing is deceiving!!!

So, I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Camera Obscura in Edinburgh, and let me just say, it was an absolute blast! If you're in the mood for some quirky fun, this place is a must-visit. First things first, the location itself is fantastic. Situated right at the top of the iconic Royal Mile, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the city. It's the perfect spot to start your Edinburgh adventure. Now, let's talk about the main attraction - the camera obscura itself. For those who don't know, it's essentially a giant periscope that projects live images of the city onto a viewing table. It's like stepping into a magical world where you can spy on unsuspecting pedestrians or get a bird's-eye view of Edinburgh Castle. Trust me, it's incredibly fascinating. But that's not all! The Camera Obscura is a multi-level experience, with each floor offering a different interactive exhibit. From mind-bending optical illusions to a room that makes you feel like you're walking on the ceiling, there's something to captivate everyone's imagination. One of my personal highlights was the mirror maze. I must admit, I got embarrassingly lost in there, but it was an absolute riot! Trying to find my way out while laughing at my own reflection was a hilarious experience. And let's not forget the rooftop terrace. It's the perfect place to take a breather, soak in the stunning views, and maybe even catch a glimpse of a street performer entertaining the crowds below. The staff at the Camera Obscura were also friendly and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to explain the science behind the exhibits and answer any questions we had. It's always a bonus when you can learn something new while having a great time! So, whether you're a tourist or a local looking for a fun day out, I highly recommend checking out the Camera Obscura in Edinburgh. It's a quirky, interactive experience that will leave you with a smile on your face and some fantastic memories. Just be prepared to have your mind blown and maybe even get a little lost in the mirror maze! #uk #uktravel #trip #adventure #holiday #familytravel #london #caneraobscura

#edinburghtrips 🏰✨ Edinburgh: where history whispers and adventures taste sweet 🍰🌿 We began our day wandering through Princes Street Gardens, a quiet green escape in the heart of the city, before following the peaceful Water of Leith trail—a little pause where the sound of the river feels like music. From there, the charm grew stronger: the curved fairytale lanes of West Bow Street called us in, every corner looking like a painting 🎨. By lunchtime, we landed on the Royal Mile. And let me tell you: the pasta there? Maman, I’m coming! 🍝😂 Add to that a slice of carrot cake so perfectly mastered that you’ll forget every other dessert you’ve ever had. In the afternoon, we stepped into the Elysian Museum, a mind-bending maze that plays with your senses and makes you lose track of reality 🌀. Then, on the way up to Edinburgh Castle, we stopped by St. Giles’ Cathedral. From there, the view opens wide over the whole city—its rooftops, its stories, and its sleeping volcano. And if you’re chasing something unforgettable, hike all the way up to Arthur’s Seat. The climb is worth every step: standing above Edinburgh, with the wind in your hair and the city at your feet, feels like owning a piece of the world 🌍💨. Edinburgh isn’t just a city—it’s a journey between myths, flavors, and skies. ✨ #Edinburgh #ScotlandDiaries #ArthurSeat #RoyalMile #PrincesStreetGardens #WestBowStreet #CarrotCakeLove #ElysianMuseum #StGilesCathedral #EdinburghCastle #TravelWithLove #CoupleDiaries #FaithAndTravel
