#2月好地方2025
Address: Pengkalan Weld, George Town, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.
Opening hours: 09:00 - 21:00
The Clan Bridges are located in George Town. They are the earliest Chinese floating villages in the area. Houses are built with wood on the sea. Each bridge is inhabited mainly by clan members with different surnames. The longest wooden bridge extends 500 meters into the sea, and some bridges are shorter.
As Penang is close to the sea, in addition to doing business or trade, many Chinese choose to return to their old jobs and make a living from fishing.
Originally there were nine surname bridges, but due to city discoveries, two of them have been demolished.
The nine surname bridges are:
1. Zhouxing Bridge - Most visited by tourists
2. Chen Bridge - the longest bridge
3. Liqiao - neat and consistent with the architectural style
4. The surname is Yangqiao
5. Wangqiao - A resting place for bachelors
6. Xinglin Bridge - Closest to the ferry terminal
7. Miscellaneous surnames bridge - other surnames
8. Xingguo Bridge (demolished)
9. Ping An Bridge (demolished)
